StepMania 5.0 Pack
So here's the deal. When you download Stepmania 5, it comes pre-packed with two songs: two of my really shitty songs. They are, however, the two most played songs on Stepmaniaonline.net. Why? They come with the game. Casual players and skilled players alike will play what's convenient for them. The songs that come with the game offers a huge amount of potential for songs/files to be played due to their accessibility. Most people are lost on stepmania.com since there's a confusing labyrinth of obstacles to actually get songs. They ususally end up going with stepmix songs or other packs that have been hosted on there for almost a decade.
Here's where we come in. Stepmania 5 devs have given us the green light to make a pack of files that will be included with the download. This means every single person that downloads the game will have our files in it. This is a huge potential for exposure, and it gives the game itself a nice starting point. This is a huge project but I'm confident we can find people willing to put in some work for this.
What we need:
-Simfile artists
-Graphics artists
-Royalty free songs with written permission to be included
-Chart judges
-Organizers
Tentative rules/guidelines
-All songs are to be fully charted from Novice to Heavy (pad) and Expert (keyboard).
-We will also be working on adding 3 additional charts to every style of play: 3key, pump, kb7, solo, doubles.
-Songs must be royalty free, and have written permission from the artist. We'll have a pool of songs people can pledge to step for certain difficulties, or if you want to do the file yourself that's up to you.
-Simfile artists will be credited per chart. Once a song is selected for the project, you can claim the spot of a difficulty and your name will be added (think of how r21freak packs are done).
-Song length MUST be between 1:45 and 3:00. There may be exceptions for boss songs.

-Final pack will have 20-25 files hopefully.
-Song files submitted must be 320kbps CBR (sm5 doesn't work well with vbr), or OGG format.
TO SUBMIT A FILE, MAKE A THREAD IN THE FORUMS LINKED BELOW. POST A LINK IN THE THREAD ADDING WHICH DIFFICULTIES YOU'RE DOING/PLAN ON STEPPING.
