    Solo Question

Probably like most people starting 6k with a huge background from 4k, i'm fine with stream and jumps, but i ****ing suck at hands and quads

Are there any files that are pretty heavy on hands/quads that i can just hammer for a while on different rates and practice getting the muscle memory down so i can apply that to the rest of pretty much all solo?

I hate that unbalance between being so advanced at everything else compared to that

    Edit:
Oh yeah here's the files i currently have for preferences
    Both Monogataris
    Solo Japan Pack
    Solord State Squad
    Xiao's Solo packs
    Patashu's Solo pack
    LongGone's Files
    BM IIDX 17 Sirius Megapack
    96

    Re: Solo Question

Xiao and Patashu Solo Beginner Packs are decent, although most of the hardest difficulties are way too difficult to even be considered beginner friendly.

Give the Solo Monogatari packs 1 and 2 a go—most of the charts on the hardest difficulty are actually way easier than the aforementioned packs. You can also give my Solo Japan Pack a shot on lower rates. The majority of my solo simfiles are chord-heavy/focused and are -intended- for people to get the hang of chordsmash without all the awkwardness compared to the Beginner packs or any of the BCMPs. Although, it's more geared towards intermediate players.

        Re: Solo Question

you can play solord state squad on hard/medium to get started but some of the expert charts may be a little too tough.

solo rulz pack 2 when it comes out will have tons of files for every level

              Re: Solo Question

My suggestions all respond to your question and I tried to include stuff that goes beyond that. Some might be a bit too much, but seeing Sabre Wing and Super Lovely get recommended, I figured why not. You should play on Mirror once in a while, too. It's so much more useful on 6key.

Concerning the packs you already have:

--96 Solo files-- (I'm guessing this is the right one)
              Bit Mania
              Blythe Hvy
              Boundary
              Classmate
              Memory of Beach
              His Morning Promenade
              Phantasmagoria Mystical Expectation Hvy
              Rainbow Rainbow Hvy
              Sonata Beg/Oni
              The Dirty of Loudness Hvy/Oni
              Totsukaku Zenkaiten!
              Voile Magic Library Hvy

              --Solo Japan--
Gundam-Dude ain't kidding, his stuff is great for this.

              --Patashu Pack--
              Ice Frontier Hvy
              Lapis Hvy

              --Xiao1--
              Trigger Oni

              --Xiao2--
              Impronta Oni

              --Xiao3--
              Silver Dream Oni
              Tell Me Your Wish Oni

I'm assuming you don't have these, but I very much recommend them.

--92SoloFiles-- (Italicized ones are a bit easier)
              *Angel Eyes Hvy
              Disabled the Flaw
              Dragon Blade Oni
              *Earth Quake Hvy
              Frog Machine
**Frozen Bond Oni (w/ Twister mod)
              Ganymede Oni
              Go Berzerk Hvy
              *Jelly
Last Regrets -Omega Force Remix- Hvy
              Linear Motor Girl
              Pollinosis
              *Prehistoric Turtlesaurus
Stunt Flying (Not for hands, but jumps everywhere)
              *Wazato Tsuyoku Karameta Yubi

Solo Rulz (It's a good pack)
              Tricky Disco Hvy

              BCMP4 (Also a good pack)

I hope this helps, and remember to post your scores in the Solo thread!

                    Re: Solo Question

XSBP3 is also a fairly chord focused pack, although I strongly recommend just playing it with mirror and even shuffle.

Shuffle is a great mod to use for solo because you'll depend less on muscle memory playing the same files over and over again and more on actual reading and technique. Patterns do become much more awkward but if you can cope with it for a while it isn't nearly as bad. LongGone can vouch for me here about how useful shuffle is.

                          Re: Solo Question

I used IcyWorld's thread to get up to date on Solo files. The Solo Rulz links still work for me. I dunno, I enjoyed most of Solo Rulz.

I did leave out Solord and LongGone's files because they're mostly difficult. I haven't played anything below Heavy in Solord, so I can't comment on those charts. Although I'll say Flare Oni and Musicmaker RX Oni are extremely fun and do help to learn more advanced hands/freeze chords.

                          Edit:
Solord State Squad: Lastendconductor is easy enough I suppose, and fun.

Something I forgot to mention earlier, try and have a theme(even just to switch to temporarily) that tells you how many hands/mines/freezes/etc are in each song. I use CyberiaStyle 5/6. Makes it much simpler when looking for possible candidates, instead of having to play through entire charts. Though I'll say sometimes you find unexpected gems where the chart might've seemed lacking at first glance.

Once you get some speed, play Cookie Bouquet. It has a lot of large chords at a fast bpm.
