This is what I hope we can accomplish. Because I remember the way I felt when I first started playing Stepmania and I couldn't find any files that I could play to help with anything, so I stuck with some Dragonforce pack that I couldn't even play for like months.

@Rebirth, I'll hop on now, did you try to PM Charlo or leave him a message on his wall?

70% chance I'm using RF for this again. I'll start making in depth plans and layouts and hopefully I can get them coded

For communication, I don't have Skype so that's a no-go. PM is less convenient since it's only between two people. I think a forum or something would be best.

The database/back-end stuff should be considered carefully, making sure we have take everybody's feature requests into account. But layout/design work could start right away. I actually started doing a mockup of the main site layout, because I was bored: http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/...harlo/site.jpg . I honestly don't care if it gets used or not, but it's something to build off of.

Give me a day or two and I can have every single page and feature that we would need laid out. I can show what things should look like, and all that would be required is recreating that on code and linking them together and give permissions based on having an account, etc

So when you say layout, do you mean you're going to do the full design, or just rough ideas? I'm cool with either. It would be a good idea to have an idea of how the whole site will work together before we start throwing down code.

My AIM is sinistercharlo, I should be free most of the rest of the day. Does anybody even use AIM anymore?

                        Everybody still uses AIM wtf

I was only talking about a rough layout that could be followed, but since this doesn't look like it'd be something very graphical intensive maybe I could do a full design. I would only need you guys to do the code to link everything together and make it all work. Not sure.

The singles part of the database will allow everybody who has an account to upload simfiles. However, I kinda want the packs part of the database to only allow certain people to upload packs. This will be based off a usergroup in the forums, assuming we use RF

Shit out most of what the packs pages will look like. Ignore the header because that is already completed and exists on RF.

We're probably just going to have one giant page for the packs index. No search option necessary because you can just ctrl+f and search that way

Sounds like a good idear. I didn't get much of a chance to start the pack db. But if Charlo ever gets on AIM, me and him could start coordinating this.

Cedo, I won't be able to get on much today, but if you want to start thinking about what tables/columns we'll need, that's fine. Much of it is straightforward but if we're implementing genres, we may want to do something like simfile-->simfilegenre<--genre where simfilegenre holds a relationship between a simfile and genre, so that simfiles can have multiple genres and genres could have multiple simfiles associated with them.
