I only go to TS for the community.

Although I see the "hipster" approach, I don't like how almost every song on TS is by an independent artist..
It's like if all FFR had were 4-5 minute rock songs by emo unpopular artists. I'd eviscerate myself.

I've tried Thirdstyle. I tried it, I wanted to like it, but it just flat-out doesn't work for me.
The timing is so off that arrows are already passing the bar before the music even starts.

I've noticed it works fine for some people so I asked one such person, OWA, who suggested Thirdstyle standalone, which works for him. Well, I have the exact same problem and identical behavior with Thirdstyle standalone and that is that the sync is just so far off kilter the game is unplayable.

I've tried a variety of songs on a variety of difficulties and have tried many many offsets, none of which are right. I'm tired of trying to find a "magic offset" just to get the sync right. It would really really help if the game had some sort of calibration song or mode to let you get the sync right. (hint hint)

FFR doesn't suffer any of these problems and syncs up perfectly without me having to do anything so obviously it can be done in Flash.

blame ricky for that one (drugstorecowboy), i don't really like his Sorrowxcore either, but there are some real nice charts on there, just try searching by genre

i'm not sure what you can do about this tbh, have a look at This thread., but there is definitely no issues with the offsets of the charts, maybe try re-installing flash and/or updating to fp11. The game works best on google chrome as well.

if all else fails log a complaint in the feedback and see what the admins can do.

This might not count as an argument, but I've never been able to play more than two songs in a row because I simply dislike the general feel of the Thirdstyle engine, of its forums, of its layout, etc. For some reason, every time I try staying there for a while, I find myself rushing back to FFR.

Meh the charts lately have been garbage, getting sick of the all the dump/FGO type along with the pointless bpm changing files. (I miss the REAL gimmick charts.) The last good chart IMO was Candy Dance from nearly a month ago.

tbh the rate of emo stuff is slowing down, the largest amount was when we had barely anypermissions and ricky was ordering people to step loads of it. we just have jonny jizzing breakcore dumps all over atm.
Anyway if you want some better music in there, you are more than welcome to step some. like i said anything that is creative commons is open, that leaves you with alot of sites, like newgrounds, ocremix, 8bitpeoples ect ect.

Lol, i'm not really trying to convert anyone here, i like thirdstyle because i don't have a bias against either, i have played both, thirdstyle just looks better and plays smoother. on here i get flash player crashes, and lag ( even in standalone) and it just looks ugly haha.
of course if you have played on here for years you are going to have a bias, the nostalgia, the colours imprinted into your brain :P. ect ect

Well, it definitely needs a negative offset but I can't seem to find it.
-1000 is way too little
-5000 is way too much
That only leaves a huge amount of stuff to try X-P

BPM change feature on it is quite interesting and a great advantage, so it needs more files w/ innovative gimmicks.
