Auto-Lock Old Threads

Okay, so I keep on accidentally posting reply's to super old threads, and bumping them up.

Can we get a system where after a certain time period of no new posts in a thread, that the thread is automatically locked? Could be, like 6 months? idk.

I think you should just look before you post, number one.

And I don't know if vBulletin has that kind of functionality built in.

I actually do read a thread before I post in it, I just don't bother to look at the super tiny out of the way text every freaking time before I post.

You guys arent looking at the point. It's to prevent mods from having to waste their time lecturing newbs and careless people when there could be a autolock feature.

I understand Beethovens mask's idea. I sometimes read a whole thread, like the same one he is referring too, and don't look at the date. I only figured it out after I saw what he edited in.

The admins do not like to mess with the vB coding, and I doubt there is an auto-lock feature. Just look at the date of the thread.

Or just click "New Posts" on the top of the forum.

I came up with this a long time ago. At the time Reaper pointed out that there are times when you can simply bump a thread without having to make a new one (it saves space on the site, after all). With CT added, that point becomes even more valid then before.

I say no.

EDIT: Im fairly sure vB has a feature like this, tho
