    Re: Mirror Mode

if you are weak on left hand biased files and you will play them mirror you will never improve your left

also those guys that are good at both hands will lose their unique advantage and rank on specific files like EHHS

so yes i would like to see that feature because it will double the amount of files in the game in one action

but what about the ranking list
maybe you could go the the top 200 of a file and press a button to see the original and the mirror rank list so you could AAA every song twice or something but every song will count as one aaa on the stats bar

I'm pretty much against any change that could possibly justify a completely new set of high scores for people who use the change versus people who dont'.

Right, that would be like having a speedmod highscore list and a screenshrink highscore list. (or even a one-hand highscore list, lol) scores need to be objective.

hmm this seems like a good idea but i have to agree with heyitsmee, if its added, i probably would never play a left handed trill file again, id just sswitch to mirror mode, thus never getting any better at left handed trills

              Re: Mirror Mode

As a left-handed, one-handed FFR player, I've always felt my learning curve was rather slow. After over a year of play, I should be FC'ing VCs and maybe even an FMO here or here, instead I only have 2 Challenging FC's, the first one which I got in December 2007. This mirror mode idea does sound pretty good for the percentage of FFR that is left-handed to help out skills increase, and I support it.
On the same side, I do see the opinions of those who say that it wouldn't be the same simfile, and that a mirrored AAA of BB Evo, for example, can't exactly be compared to an original AAA, or so it could be argued, so you would see a lot of people in the brag board putting it down with "Oh, you probably mirrored that, noob" and stuff like that.
But, many songs, if the stepfile is truly good, have an equal balance of left-side and right-side arrows, so except for songs that require you to whore a certain part of the keypad for the majority of the song, like Palindrome, this may not be necessary.
But, a very good idea, and I'd love to see it in the game, just to play with.

how could it be objective if you just mirror a file to get that score
                you personalized it
maybe i didnt get you right never mind

my bottom line i would like to test it (but not sure how much ill like it maybe ill found out the original files are always better)
and if you could play mirror the score should go to another list then the normal because its just not the same

                  Re: Mirror Mode

That's what I meant. Scores need to be looked at the same way from any perspective. One-handers shouldn't get personal highscore lists, and if there was a mirror mode, everyone (people who used mirror and regular on a particular song) should be on the same highscore list. And if mirror scores were considered different from actual scores, then non-avmiss scores should certainly be separate. (but, of course, they're not) Like I said, non-avmiss scores are the most inflated scores we've ever seen. Scores that aren't even possible with avmisses are being achieved (on the same highscores list).

i think mirror should not go on the same list as the original hypothetically speaking
