Have forum-goers have to have atleast 10million (or whatever you feel suitable) grand total score to be able to post in the forums. It'll get rid of those advertisers.

I dunno, feel free to suggest something else. Or that my idea failed.

I don't really think there's any reasonable way to prevent this, unfortunately...

Considering advertisers are run by bots who cannot recognize non-forum code you could get away with requiring 1 point in the grand total or more to post.

Then people would have to create a PMS account, get it 10 mil, and then be able to post in 1 mil get. I wouldn't like that, and it would make it fail.

There are several ways to do this and one way that I've been thinking about posting for some time.

#1 My (modified blizzard's) idea: Do something like over the course of two weeks you need to have at least two hours as a member or your name gets deleted from the registery. Then if you meet that all you have to do is not be idle for a year and your account will still be there. If you are idle for more than a year, your account could be deleted.

#2 You could also do something like set a 10 minute period where a new member cannot post. This would limit the amount of accounts that are simpley created to make one post, or are joke accounts.

Not true.

I can see deleted threads. There was one on November 1st created by a member who joined in November.

There are a bunch of ways we could solve this. Keep posting them and I'll relay them to the people who can make it happen.

Maybe its a 24 hour period then, Im pretty sure its 48 hours but I could be wrong.

Somehow I doubt there's any delay.

When someone makes a joke about how there's no user with some retarded name, odds are good a reg will make an account with that username and post immediately after.

Going by FFR scores wouldn't work, and it would alienate a bunch of people.

My idea was to require one post before being able to post a link. Spamvertizers are stopped dead, since they never make more than one post, and anyone who legitimately wants to link to something in their first post shouldn't be too bothered by being required to make ONE post before being able to do so.

Hell, suggest that they visit the Newbie forum in the "sorry, but you can't post links yet" message.
