Nearly forgot to do the Tournament Update tonight... O_o
As we head into Day 4 of Round 6, it would appear that some of the people left have given up hope on making it to Round 7, and I wouldn't argue with them, some of the scores gotten lately by each division have been quite outrageous compared to scores that were received on average in Round 4 and Round 5, and that was the tipping point for AAAs, yet, they still seem to be coming in hard, and I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of people were able to pull a Dossar. I'll leave some quotes in below this paragraph to let the people themselves explain what they have in mind. Well, enough depression, here's the tournament update!

This may be the point of end in the tournament for Team Pony, but for this part in the tournament, how many problems we've had in it, I think it's just who was the better sandbagger imo, and to get up there with them without doing such things, is a great feat indeed. You have all improved regardless.

+1 Excellent idea. Of course wide differences in skill levels will need to be taken into consideration and/or perhaps limit the upper difficulty of charts. I'd never be able to do well on an old system 10, 11, or 12 for example, and my chances on doing well on an old system 9 are quite small. (Yeah new system is too confusing/not used to it yet)
My PA is good, but I'm just not going to be able to hit things past a certain density (and jackhammers are just *evil* -- none of that please. If there's jackhammer charts I'm just not even going to try. It's more a "killing your fingers and your keyboard" than a legit difficulty enhancer)Originally posted by Crashfan3Comment

I wouldn't think that we would have enough active players to host a Tournament just starring us. Closest thing I can think of to a Tournament that I've wanted to do for the longest time is a Team-Based Tournament, where you can pit Teams against one another in Rounds, and if you're in more than one team you can choose between those teams as to which one you will represent.
The idea isn't really fleshed out yet, and I doubt anyone would be willing to actually contribute to such an idea because there's barely any Rivalry between teams as it is, and we would need the approval of nearly every Team on the website here. Originally posted by YoshLComment

I don't know. Team Blaze seems to think of themselves as our rivals. I'm sure we could get a Team Pony vs. Team Blaze something-or-other going if we want to do the whole Team v Team thing. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to go along with it too.
The question would be one of how to set up an appropriate tournament? How do you factor in things such as differences in skill levels or numbers of members? Would it be a strict AAA-based thing (where the goal is of course AAA or get as close to it as possible) or more "skill token"-ish with special goals per each round?Originally posted by Crashfan3Comment

I was really interested in Team Pony because it was a great place to hang out and whatnot, but now that plans are being placed to make it a competitive team against Team Blaze, I'm losing interest. I'm not so sure I want to stay. I like the people here a lot and I'm not really saying goodbye yet, but I just have to think about it a bit.Comment

Pretty much this... except I'm not thinking about leaving.
The entire point of this team is going out the window because of this rivalry with Team Blaze. Albeit they misconstrued the team's concepts as being competitive, and if I recall correctly we showed nothing of the kind.
Why exactly is this team submitting to the idea? Even if it is being pondered at the moment, we're going against the purpose.The purpose of this team is mostly just to play FFR, talk about ponies, and most importantly have fun! It doesn't matter how good you are at FFR, everyone is welcome!

I think it would be something cool, as I never have been in a team-based rivalry before.
If you don't want to join, it's not like anyone is forcing you to. It's the same as the official tourney. Only half of the people joined in on that, and we were supportive of each other the whole way trying to keep everyone's spirits up.

It's essentially enhancing that non-existent rivalry that was implied and turning it into a reality. I (personally) don't want to hear the trash-talking that might come about involving the two teams, not to mention I was enjoying the team a lot more with the people just socializing freely with each other.
Whatever, it's a personal thing at this point. I'll figure out what to do later.Comment
