Most people who dont post dont even read the forums, or don't know the active members well enough to talk to them. Most people in the FFR community are kind and helpful to new players, just the few that are not really stand out against those who are nice and give the rest of the community a bad name.

It's not that I dont care about what you or other newer players say, I just dont know you yet, it's hard to gauge a response.

I don't see any instances of people dismissing/being mean to newbies. If anything, it's been a sort of mantra lately to be kinder to newbies so that the community doesn't seal itself off and wither away from entropy.

But if you're a retarded newbie, then oh yeah, you'll get pooped on.

On an honest note: It's honestly not just happening to the newer players either. Everyone trolls everyone. I'm as guilty of this (if not one of the most guilty) as anyone but holy shit has it gotten bad.

I haven't been posting in these drama threads in fear of being "attacked" (see: rule thread). welp.

Maybe it's just me, but I have yet to see one incident of someone directly targeting newbie for harassment simply for pleasure whenever I have been in the forums or in prochat.
However, to me this "problem" just seems like people complaining to fix global warming; no one is addressing how to fix it.

Since OP stated that the problem is caused by people claiming to be "IM #1 OMFG ROFLMAO U ALL SUK!!!", that must be a very exclusive group.

For better or for worse, pointing fingers seems to be the most effective and immature way to face this problem - but through privacy. If people really have a huge problem with this sort of stuff, REPORT IT to an administrator.. don't make a thread about it.

Just scanned avrank list for top 50 players atm, the only one that I've seen trolling newbies from time to time is Plan. But he trolls everyone so lol.
