I think the argument about making good files into tokens was because it would be a bit of an added incentive to try for them.

Then again, isn't Oni one of your more evil creations?

Well, again, I think it's a really really cool idea to have a token that requires you to play TS, just that the requirement itself was really poorly chosen. The entire event is a really neat idea.

Maybe even a tournament that involves playing between the two websites someday (and maybe even KBO?). Maybe that's just wishful thinking. >:3

Isn't this honorable, and most of your other files are regular releases.

I was curious, so I went through all the hard files I've stepped for FFR:

lolharp5000- VC- skill token with gimmicky but easy req
Otaku Speedvibe [Heavy]- VC- skill token with a restrictive but sensible req
Kyuin- VC- skill token with a restrictive req, but I'm okay with that honestly
M.A.M.A.- VC- public but should have been a skill token

Midnight Dragon- FMO- secret with quite a high credit requirement
Otaku Speedvibe [Oni]- FMO- skill token with a restrictive but sensible req
Melonman's OP- FMO- skill token with a difficult and annoying req
PianoCore- FMO- skill token with a very grindy req
Piano Etude (Demon Fire)- FMO- public

St. Scarhand- FGO- skill token with an incredibly restrictive req
FREEDOM DiVE- event token
Reality- FGO- public

As you can see I only actually have three public VC+ files out of the twelve I have stepped.

Let's compare this to two other prolific steppers:
JX- Twenty nine VC+ files, of which twenty one are public
bmah- Twenty six VC+ files, of which twenty are public

Perhaps that puts it in perspective why I get a little annoyed?
In the end I make files because I want to have people enjoy them... and hiding them away as tokens the great majority will never get sort of kills that incentive for me.

I'll consider "token percentage" more anyways, especially for steppers who care about this.

I only bring up hard files because those tend to be the ones I have put the most effort into.
(Not saying I don't try my best to make easier files as amazing as possible either, it's just that hard files take a lot more time due to simply having more arrows)

Maybe have a section next to the SAPs where it says how okay the step artist is with having their files be tokens.

I have no problem with the current system, maybe you could ask the simfile author or something, I just wish the percentage of songs that are already tokens would be taken into account. If JX does that, as he said he would, I have no problem. I'll judge by the results though ._.

I can think of an awesome token requirement for FREEDOM DiVE: FC Church Bells with no boos.
Great goal for people, completely reasonable. Fits the "bells" theme of the song too, plus it's by the same artist.

I like that, even though I probably still wouldn't be able to obtain it ;___;

Personally, I think that only vROFL should be something you can only obtain in an event .... I'm sorry. Everything else is just ehhh .... AAA reality to get Scarhand... Really? I'm sorry, horrible req. That's basically the equivalent of getting otaku EDIT. :/ ....

Some of the "token" gets have been quite ridiculous, not to mention, besides Jae's new song coming out as a skill token, there has not been much of lower end skill token releases. It just seems to be the higher ups getting most of them.

Scarhand is an extremely fun song and file. I think that everyone should be allowed to experience it first hand instead of having to AAA an FGO and become an elite player to do it. ONI was the most wanted ST back in the day, and now look at how many people have obtained it and how much it has died down lately. Just stick with a good req instead of purely AAA'ing something or BF'ing it.

As for the new Skill Token FD, I've been playing on TS for a little while, and I really like that site, however, I'm not going to whore a 5 minute long song that was spontaneously chosen to be a skill token the day it came out. I mean, a lot of people do have lives, thats basically just a spon con, but an unfair one :/ only in the manner that not everyone has 24 hours ina day to consistently play a song and not have other obligations.

Either way, Event's need to be more planned out and purely put together, JUST like the way the last Christmas event happened ( I mention that because it was one of the best events I've seen on the site since I joined. )

this. I literally don't have any skill tokens that require long ass songs to be whored, it's really time consuming and pointless.
