You're kidding right? The Temporary FAQ has a few short paragraphs on the subject, but it's in no way parallel to the quality of this thread.
If all of the information needed to run the standalone can be found in the Temporary FAQ, where's your support for mac users?

Your thread is good as a general FAQ (which I'm sure it was intended to be), but this thread has the main focal point of the standalone itself, not to mention the flashy title that actually draws people to it instead of something that looks outdated (Even though it's not) by the use of the word "temporary." Nowhere in your thread did I see as many different links for different flash players, etc. I don't think it's right that you're calling this thread unnecessary, especially since it's helping people...
    /rant

Oh excuse me that my thread wasn't good enough for you. 1st off he didn't have the Mac stuff up either till he edited a few hours go. 2nd the links needed to play the actual game are on the FAQ which were the ones that mattered. Haku's and Dossar's engine didn't exist when I made the thread almost a year ago, sorry I didn't have links for something that didn't exist. I have downloads for both 8 and 9 listed on there, I have the instructions on how to use the standalone and how to log in to it. Even have your video linked in it.

The point was is the other thread has all the info and has been a sticky for nearly a year but people made threads anyway. This will be no different people will still over look it. Plus someone who is not familiar with things wont even know what the hell a standalone is. They will probably still make a thread about "how do I reduce lag?" So the ffr standalone title is really only good for the frequent forum goers.

Plus on a final note, telling people to save the .sfw is just causing a TON of confusion because it doesn't work. The same question got repeated over and over because of that.

Seriously... You guys are pouncing all over each other. It's not worth all this arguing. The reason I ended that post with "post your comments/questions/etc here". It was because I know I didn't have every detail on it. This is all a new attempt to HELP the problem...it won't fix it. I know that. Either way, the point of this thread wasn't to cause problems. I have updated the information, and it should fix the problems. Did you guys notice I updated that? It doesn't even say to download the swf anymore.

I intended for this to be a refining process for the thread. Let's not keep fighting over it...

I read this rude, uncalled for, and extremely sarcastic line and didn't read the rest of your post. There is no reason to react like this to the post I made and I will regard the rest of the unread sentences in your post as an "I'm extremely offended by your not so offesive post" rant. You're a moderator now and I would rather not get into a debate with someone who is pissed off for some reason and has the power to ban me.

Also, you know damn well that I didn't say anything negative about your thread besides showing that AJ's claim that everything that's in this thread can be found in the Temp FAQ. I don't even care, I would just rather you wouldn't call helpful threads like these pointless.

EDIT: nvm, still nothing about macs in the Temp FAQ

This still needs to be resolved. Saying to download the .swf will result in more people going "why isn't the song list loading?" and it should be changed above.

Also, the "Avmiss engine" link doesn't work, and I knew it worked before the site went down so it's probably completely erased from the site now.

If it makes you feel any better psychoangel, we took this as an opportunity to obscenely advertise the fact that stand alone engines existed.

                    Re: FFR Standalone!

                    A few nitpicks:

                    2) You will need to download a .swf file for the Engine.
Needs to be changed to "You will need the URL to your preferred engine."

----> Using the Flash Standalone Player, open up on of the URL links above.
                    on -> one
URL links -> URL OR links, not both.

Other than that, you should change the entire thing to:
"Right-click the link to your preferred engine and choose "Copy link address" or "Copy link location" or "Copy shortcut" depending on which browser you use. Then, paste that URL in the dialog box opened when you go to File -> Open in the standalone app."

I also suggest splitting the list of engine URLs into two categories, .swf URL and In-browser URL. It's confusing to have two of each engine listed like that.

so i played EternuS, but teh score didn't record. using velocity's engine. i might also add, i was palying in fullscreen mode. dunno if that make s a diff or not.

HA! Finally figured out how to get my Sig in purple, and show the stats i want.

From time to time, song's won't record. Shit happens. If no scores record at all, then you have a problem.

How to make the engine run better:
                              1.Go to start.
                              2.Right click computern.
                              3.Click properties.
4.Then on the bottom left it will say performance click that.
                              5.Then Click adjust visual effects.
6.Then click the bubble that says best performance.

This works for vista and xp.

http://www.keysmashingisawesome.com/ is the URL for the engine page for Velocity DF.

                                For 7,

                                1. Start.
                                2. Right click computer.
                                3. Click properties.
                                4. On the left sidebar, click 'Advanced system settings'.
                                5. Click the advanced tab.
                                6. Under 'Performance', click on the 'Settings' button.
                                7. Click the radio button that says 'Adjust for best performance'.
                                8. Click 'Ok'.

This is the equivalent to switching to the Aero basic theme, but with some added speed improvements.
