    Making an FFR bot....questions

So, I'm in CS and am a CS major at college (along with Physics, double major, whatev/). Anywho, we're supposed to make a GUI based program that controls/interacts with specs of another program that runs in either a gui or a generic programming program (flash, multimediafusion, etc.), and a lot of people are making bots/hacks for stuff. The only online game I play is FFR, and like Rubix made one to test, I was gonna give it a try. HOWEVER, I definitely don't want to cheat, so, I guess I'd test it outside of my profile, if I make it, so not logged in, but is that still okay? Or should I just do something else cause' this could be risky...

Also, not sure what is the best language to do it in, I know Perl, Java, Python, and some Lisp, am currently learning C
It's getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school (No, I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No, I can't complain)
You're holding me down (Oh Oh)
    Turning me round (Oh Oh)
Filling me up with your rules (Oooh)

I'd say make it, but make it so you can't be logged into it. Seems pretty fair.

that's true, easily could do that as a starting control loop, so it only works when not logged in, seems good to me

Yeah. Also, I'm not completely sure what language it's best to code with, i think most bots for games were coded with something like C++ .. But yeah, unsure.

Don't do it. Just my advice.

Doesn't seem like you thought very hard when you asked this question....
Honestly, the easiest way that you could do it is with the standalone offline version.
But just the fact that you would make a thread about it... that alone is just setup for you to get BS calls.

? I'll post the script if you want when I'm done...if you guys really don't believe me, and yeah, I'd be doing it with the standalone, since that's what I use. I thought that was obvious

Pascal is a popular botting language, but u don't know it so..

Yeah the languages you know aren't very good for botting other programs. Oh well

Whatever, if you find a way to do it, run it off an offline engine. Don't expect anyone to believe your scores after it's written tho.

That's what I feared, I hear others use Delphi and stuff as well, oh well, I mean, we're allowed to use any language we want, but everyone else knows more languages than me ;_;, I feel behind (4th semester CS)

I don't advise it, but if you do anyway:
                    - Make sure your logged out.
                    - Don't post it publicly.
                    - Send it to me.

There's many ways to make a FFR bot, I'd be interested in your approach.

Alright, I'll give it a try and send it to you I guess, there's no ETA as of now, it is I assume, more than a weeks project at least, considering I have 4 other classes with significant work as well, if not longer.

Velo probably wants it so he knows what to patch the engine against. <<

My brother has actually been bugging me to make one of these every time he hears me complain about a particular song's speed or pattern awkwardness. It would be interesting to build a robot that loaded the file and then physically pressed the keys accordingly, making BS calls harder, but if you're going to work that hard on faking it, you might as well put that effort towards getting legitimately good.

Since this is for a class project, though, I say go for it.

I've always wanted to make an FFR-playing robot... would be REALLY interesting to see.
