Honestly, I don't care what people think about speed modifiers.

I've been using 1.75x. But I still do well with 1x...
I purchased a song and the settings reset to 1x. But I still managed to pull off maybe, 90%.

60FPS x3 wouldn't be too bad.

For what it's worth, when I first tried the speed mods, 1.25x was too slow for me (not a big difference between that and 1x IMO), 1.5x was good, and 1.75x was too fast for me, so I play on 1.5x. I've tried 1.75x a few times since then, but it's often still too fast. Yes, I could probably adjust to the faster speed, but for the songs I typically play, it doesn't seem to provide much advantage over 1.5x. Plus my hand-eye coordination probably isn't quite the same now as it was when I was younger, so I can't really go too fast. Very fast tempo songs give me enough trouble as it is; making the arrows move too fast on top of that is even worse.

I used 1.25 for a while, then 1.5, 1.75, and i'm now using 2.

I believe it's best to use the highest speed you can read.

Really? Looking at your replays it doesn't look like 3x, and it doesn't look like you actually play the game. Nice 1200-95-5-0-4 on Caprice with 0 combo.

Anyways, to the OP, I don't think anyone uses 3x, it's just too hard to read on FFR's 30 fps.

My advice is to just start at 1.25 and keep moving up until you find a speed that feels good, give all of them a try for a while because it does take a while to adjust.

God, the duplicate frames on every every arrow is annoying. I thought it was my eyes at first. Though my eyes are pretty bad from all those nights staying up and playing my gameboy in bed with the magnifying glass + light thing as a kid. :P Sometimes it looks like 1 of 2 collinear arrows is above the other slightly. I need glasses.

Oh my god, I used to have that magnifier/light thingy too. Those were awesome. I wonder where my game boy is...

Anyway, I play on 1.5 and reading these now I'm thinking of moving up. I don't know how much better I can get since I play one-handed anyway.

I gradually went up to 2x.

But I find 2x too fast for my meager reaction time. 1.75 is a good speed for me but it shows too many arrows.

Now I play 1.75 with screencut. Though the arrows stay on the screen for the same time as 2x they're closer together.

When I started FFR, I used 1.75x. Been using it since then. I can handle 2x, but my PA becomes worse and i can't AAA VD and above songs. I did use 2x to AAA one song because i kept getting random goods at 1.75x lol.

after 100 games when i just found out that there was settings to change speed mods -.- i jumped straight 1.5x was perfectly fine then i slowly went higher to 1.75 and now 2x and now i have trouble playing with 1.75 and under

its also fun to try out 3x for like 15 games (can probably fc a few difficult songs with it)then go back to 2x and it feels like ur doing 1x and its alot easier to read but it goes away after the first game =/

After a while of playing, probably around 1000 or so games, I changed to 1.25. Stayed with that for a shorter amount of time and quickly raised it up to 1.5, and it has stayed that way ever since.

On 1x I fail at like almost every song, at 1.25x I pass but hit so many arrows so soon, and at 1.75x it's kinda too fast for me. So basically, 1.5x is perfect for me.

I guess I could always get used to 1.75x, but unless something changes my mind, I'll be staying at 1.5x =D

I do 1.75x with roughly only 1/6th screen cut to make it basically 2x speed.

When I first found out about speed mods, I did 1.25. Then moved up to 1.5, and then a few weeks later, 1.75. I now use 2.0.
