I'm better without sound if the song isn't properly synced. If it is, I find to listen to it once then play it I do better.

I actually can't do well if I can't hear the music, and surprisingly, turning the sound off on offsync songs messes me up more than turning it off on a well synced song.

Sprite- once said I play by eye.

But I play more by ear.

Playing a song while listening to a different song with the same exact BPM will make me a better player.

Well, if you're somebody who can keep a beat, you are going to your own beat, but it's the song's beat as well. Because the color of the arrows determines things like tempo and timing, you can use this to keep rhythm even without hearing the music, meaning you wouldn't necessarily have to know the song at all.

Yeah, But knowing the song as well would help too if your trying without sound wouldn't it? I would think so.

depends on how bad the song is/how badly its synced

all that anime blabla bull**** i turn off and do 99x better. most of bemanirulers files i turn off the sound and keep rhythm to how the notes would go if they were on beat.
