    better without sound?

so I tried turning off the sound and I played some songs and did really well. And broke my personal best on Love Coloured Master Spark (LUV2 Remix) 1,906 - 5 - 0 - 0 - 0. So I came to two conclusions:

    1. It was a coincidence

    2. It keeps me more mentally composed

Is anyone here better without sound?

it all really depends on if you hate/like the song.

On offsync files it's really helpful to have no sound.

I pretty much never mute FFR except when I play HELLBEAT and like this one other song lmao

Even on stuff like SSSG I keep the sound on.

i'm still not sure yet, I'm going to keep playing.

i keep setting personal bests, duality was one of them. And that song changes tempos.

              Re: better without sound?

              Personally I play without sound on off beat songs. But I was just thinking, it might sound stupid, but with sound not only your going with the song, your going with the taps you make as well. And without sound, your going with just your taps (pretty much your own beat) In all I guess it just depends on If you know the song well or not, I could be wrong O.o;

                Re: better without sound?

Playing without sound completely defeats the purpose of FFR.
The acronym FFR doesn't have to stand for 'Flash Flash Revolution'. Personally I think it should stand for 'Flash Flash Rhythm, but that obviously sounds lame. You can't get the full experience out of Rhythm games if you don't have the audio on.

yeah I actually can't play with sound right now that's the only reason I'm trying it lol.

                    Re: better without sound?

It's more of a mental thing. Honestly I might be able to do better without sound, but who would want to play a music game where you hit arrows to music without sound all the time.

Then it just becomes a boring repetitive game where you hit a bunch of keys to the beat of nothing

Well, if you're somebody who can keep a beat, you are going to your own beat, but it's the song's beat as well. Because the color of the arrows determines things like tempo and timing, you can use this to keep rhythm even without hearing the music, meaning you wouldn't necessarily have to know the song at all.

Playing without sound is boring for me, even if it's a lame song haha. My accuracy sometimes goes down too without music.

i agree it's more fun with sound. I wouldn't sacrifice fun for a little bit of skill increase because the whole point of coming to this site and playing was to have fun

                            1. Off-sync ones (Rondo v1, or Hellbeat v1).
                            2. If you hate the song.
                            3. Or you're deaf.
