They're sent to our e-mails. I rarely check my e-mails.

Gmail groups all e-mails from the same source into one, which is nice, but not nice these days.

See, that's what I thought, that ultimately reports were being sent but (to no fault of staff) weren't being responded to fast enough.

This often meant that I saw spam threads etc being left alone even when I had reported them, even if I saw staff in the "active members" list. I just presumed from this that they weren't checking PMs (but instead it was not checking emails), or perhaps even getting too many emails to keep checking, which is again understandable.

So ya, hopefully having an MSN person around will help speed things up, if someone is on MSN of course.

The report function is more for less serious offenses. For what we've been seeing these days, just contact us personally via AIM or MSN or whatever. A PM or a report won't get there fast enough. If nobody is online or nobody's replying, however, then a report will have to do.

Even then, I thought that posts that get deleted also get deducted from your post count. Therefore, you don't get anything from posting in those threads. (Correct me if I'm wrong pls)

That's exactly how it is.

Posting in a thread you know is going to be locked makes us annoyed, but there's not much we can do about it if it's on-topic (though we've taken the stance on day-bans for off-topic things such as "in before lock"). Posting in a thread you know is going to be deleted is worse, because now you know that all you're doing is bringing that image to more and more people, increasing the chances of someone seeing it who should not.

Bad idea. Hit one of us up on aim/msn/skype. We are almost always on.

I'm usually not, so that doesn't exactly work for me.

I'll usually only go out of my way on AIM if it's something truly terrible, like porn in img tags or cp or something.

Also: I think I'll just stop reporting threads since obviously it does no direct good. Change the report system to actually alert via the forum rather than email and I'll do it, otherwise... now I just feel stupid for wasting my time reporting so much ****, and actually putting a little effort into making the reports a little more interesting. Obviously, again, if I see something truly heinous, I'll still hop on aim and alert someone, but I'm done with reporting stupid **** like worthless threads or misplaced threads or other miscellaneous forum problems.

ps since I don't feel like breaking my promise already, I'll just post it: this thread is not relevant to FFR, so it's in the wrong forum 8)
