Re: Speed Help?
Well, if it hasn't hurt you, then why are you asking for help on how to get better? If you have been playing for four years and you have a slow speed, maybe it's time for a change?I dislike the use of speed mods, and i will go back to normal speed every time. It's how I've been playing for the past four years, and it hasn't hurt me.sigpicComment

Re: Speed Help?
I recommend Red Bull. But this actually is not a joke post; I'm not ****ing kidding. Take that **** and your fingers will fly.Originally posted by ryanisadoucheSo anyways i was thinking, what if a single miss didn't stop your combo? Instead, your combo kept going until 2 consecutive misses were made. I think this would provide a more realistic ranking system, and eliminate a lot of mashing.Comment

Re: Speed Help?
It hasn't hurt you, but you're missing possible opportunities to gain a lot.
Seriously, my speed sucked up until I started playing songs in SM like reality/disregard for stream speed and jackdumps like duk's k8107 for jack speed.Originally posted by DossarLX ODIWhat's the point of using drugs anyways? I heard they help you relax but that's pretty much it. (Not talking about medicines)Comment

Re: Speed Help?
If it's practicey songs you're after, try {Rose}, Air, Vertex BETA, Flight of the Bumblebee in FFR, and popular Rhapsody or DragonForce songs like Emerald Sword or Fury of the Storm in stepmania. Also in SM playing easy songs like Max 300 and Quasar then gradually speeding them up helps tons. Also you could try experimenting with different key setups. When I first started playing these rhythm games I was adamant about using the arrow keys and nothing else. I got to a certain speed and couldn't advance. Now I use (z), (x), (m), (,), and I'm progressing alot quicker

Re: Speed Help?
No. Frets on fire is like guitar hero--not FFR. I think you're thinking of Stepmania.
Anyway, I think that the best way to make your fingers faster is actually not to play stream songs, but to play lots of jumpstream--like most songs in stepmania, because it increases the speed that you recognize and analyze patterns, and it increases finger agility.
You could very well do the same thing with stream songs, but it takes longer and it's more painful >.>
