Is it just me?

So I play FFR the most odd way possible, and was wondering if anyone plays the same way/ has there own crazy way of playing?

I play Index spread, my left finger is used for my basic left arrow, up arrow, down arrow, and right arrow, while my right finger is used to cover 1,2,3, and 5 on my number pad.

I find it extremely comfortable to play with, and find it wayyyyyy more easier then normal spread (2 fingers on left hand, 2 on the right).

So I guess it is double set-up. Some people here have claimed using this setup too so it's not all too weird.

I really hope people do not make this a "well I play as;kl" type of thread. He wants weird setups. For fun I usually change the keys to something random like 'qgrp.' Something that would be awkward, and just to see how well I would do.

I believe that it'd be double setup if you used 1 and L for a jack-stream or something. Beyond that, I don't think it's DS...

No, DS is when you use 2 keys for the same arrow. For instance, you have 10 left arrows coming up in a row, and you put 1 finger on the L arrow and the other on 4. You alternate them to hit all of them instead of using the 1 finger.

Double setup is any setup where you have more than 4 buttons generating inputs for you. Thus, playing with up/down/left/right -and- 8/4/6/2 would be double setup.

You can use any setup involving 4 buttons mapping onto four inputs, anything else is not considered valid.

This is a very inefficient form of double setup, but it's double setup. Why would anyone think of playing that way? It's impractical as a double setup, but it's still illegit.

I play left index on left.
Then right index on down right middle on up and right ring on right.

Although i believe this is the most logical reasoning i think it would be just as legit as long as you didn't use two keys for 1 arrow on jacks. Or mash scores. But the same thing would happen through mashing. pressing 8 arrows at a time instead of just 4.

That first point may as well be the very purpose of the double setup :P. Making fast arrows easier to hit at any rate...

The second point was just cheap and dumb...in my opinion lol.

I use 4 keys, but I can use both hands to hit one or two of the keys (one hand right after the other) so I can hit jacks easier.

Jesus Christ, that is extremely uncomfortable. There's not really enough space for you to move your fingers unless of course your arrow keys are spaced out or something.

The only songs I think you'd need to actually use double setup on FFR would be vrofl. Others that fall into that category could possibly be Death Piano and maybe CP. Other than those, you don't really need double setup on FFR in the first place.

I used to play DS, and I thought it was spread lol. That was when I had my old account though. People said the it would make me better at jumpstream, then I did it and I was like wtf.

anything using more than 4 inputs for the 4 arrow keys is double setup. regardless of how it is used. this would fall under that category.

but, in the end, unless you're using the DS to get really elite scores, nobody really cares.
