Well over the course of playing FFR I have found myself playing in many various places. Sometimes I do better sometimes I do worse, but in my eyes it all depends on the kind of keyboard that happens to be there. I know there are countless people who complain about keyboard cb's and problems with the keyboard being the fault of PA problems and what not. So I put it in your hands, does your keyboard really make a difference?

Re: Does Your Keyboard Matter?
Of course the keyboard matters, even for masher (some keyboards allow for quad mashing, some don't).
A certain type of keyboard can either increase/decrease your speed, bearing in mind of it's accuracy in terms of registering notes, and sound taps, etc..
They also affect your PA. If you were to play with a keyboard with ginormous keys, you wouldn't do so well now would you.vagina -
Re: Does Your Keyboard Matter?
Keyboards matter a ****load for 2 and 3 fingered (1 Handed) players. We use a technique called 'sliding' all the time. And depending on the angles and slants of the arrow keys, also the smoothness, we can slide with better PA or worse PA.
It also matters because all of us have or have had the 'lag syndrome' where a key gets left down on the keyboard in fast stream or Jump Stream. This causes, on keyboards that only detect 2 or 3 arrows at once, us to get a multiple of boos on that arrow and completely miss the arrow we were attempting to hit, even though we hit it.

Yes it matters. If you don't vote yes then you have a mental problem in ffr knowledge.

Re: Does Your Keyboard Matter?
Interesting enough, my laptop keyboard registers key strokes just a frame or two earlier than most keyboards resulting in me having to press keys purposefully late in order to get perfects in songs. My fix is to use a USB keyboard which registers keystrokes perfectly on time. Not sure why this is, though I'm thinking it might have to do with the sensitivity of the keys and the tiny time it takes to depress a key until it registers...then perhaps the hardware in place to register the keystroke.Comment

Re: Does Your Keyboard Matter?
It wouldn't register keystrokes early as that would require time travle...It's probably that the keys have a shorter distance to travle to the sensor. I find that using normal keyboards requires me to be ahead of the music. Really the laptop would be theroretically better as you can hit they keys in sucession faster so I would say to get used to it...just make sure you have a warrenty because I already had to replace my keys a few time.Interesting enough, my laptop keyboard registers key strokes just a frame or two earlier than most keyboards resulting in me having to press keys purposefully late in order to get perfects in songs. Re: Does Your Keyboard Matter?
yep, i hate it when i get patterns like ^ V "<>"... if i'm not careful, it beeps and i totally miss the last left right jump. and if you can't slide on a keyboard, you can't play one handed. i guess it matters more to one handers than to two. also for one handers, you dont' want ur keyboard to slide around while ur sliding on ur keys.Keyboards matter a ****load for 2 and 3 fingered (1 Handed) players.
