Giving stepfile creators the token for their song?

I'm not in this situation myself or anything, but it struck me as kind of odd that the people who made the simfile couldn't play it on FFR without first unlocking the token. Take ViennaCore for example. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=73795

Would it be fair to give the stepfile maker the token for their song if they requested it? Oh, and support your position.

Yes, it would. They're the ones who worked their ass off making the file.

Actually, no, instead of that. They should take into consideration the skill of the sim author who made the file before choosing the requirement. People like ElectricWerewolf, for example, are good players, and getting a 600 combo on Piano Etude is cake. However, poor people like Scytlock, and eastsideman09 can't even unlock there own sims that they worked hard to get into the game! And they may never be able to! I know both of them, so I know what it's like.

If it happened to me, or any of you, me/we would be VERY upset!

Also, if the author doesn't care, then it really doesn't matter. Like, I'm sure hi19 could care less about having Otaku Speedvibe [Oni].

I would think its fair to give the simfile author the (skill)token.
They worked hard on it and want to see how it plays in the game not on SM.

What about rather than giving them simply giving them the token, give them the ability to play the song, but not have the token show up on their profile unless he/she unlocked it? That seems most fair to me.

If I got a simfile accepted into FFR and I couldn't get it, I wouldn't care. I'd just be really happy that I finally got the Simfile Author title under my name.

What does it matter anyway? As said above, they have the .SM (or DWI if you play with that POS) to play with. Only reason you would really want it is if you really, really wanted something to show off. Pride is an interesting thing.

I'd think if people were bothered over the fact that they couldn't unlock their own stepchart, they would take it up with an admin directly.

Thankfully I haven't had anything ridiculous to unlock any of mine yet. =)
