    Speed Mods in Multiplayer

A little while ago, I obtained speed mod use through the purchase of an incredibly stylish Top 1000 FFR t-shirt. I was overjoyed when I saw how much easier the game was with these speed mods. And so I used them excitedly improving my rank on several songs I'd had trouble with before.

But then, one day... I entered Multiplayer and without really giving it much thought, I played an MP round not remembering I'd left x1.25 on. I won the match with ease and gained a level.

Keeping in mind that having the speed mods increased my performance exponentially...

    The question is:

Do you think it is fair to use speed mods against other players who don't have speed mods?

Now I know this is a limited time problem being that speed mods will eventually be a universal option, but for now, I think it's kind of an issue... if not for resolution, at least for some debate and eye-opening.

I think it's okay as long as your opponent knows and approves what is going on, on the flip side I wouldn't like to see someone beat me and inform me about their speed mod afterwards.

Lol, I've played people in MP with speed mods without telling them...although nothing better than 1.25x works in reverse, so I figured it wasn't really that much of a difference. Reverse players should be allowed to use speed mods in MP, at least.

Stop acting like Reverse players deserve special treatment.

No problem at all, no need to take the time to screen-shrink.

Even at my 1.25x I still only screenshink about a centimeter less than at 1x.

Why not? The game's about the arrows you hit and when you hit them, not what you see while doing so.

Besides, screenshrinking accomplishes the job fairly well anyway, and anyone can do that.

                      Re: Speed Mods in Multiplayer

ive played against someone with speedmods, i personally dont care cause everyone will have them eventually, and the person that used them i could still beat

but only little b*tch's who care about their MP level to the point where they must keep it no matter what, would complain, even then, if they cared about it to that point, then they should have just said "sorry i dont feel like playing somebody who has an advantage over me using speedmods" and just left....

Anyways, so no i dont think its a problem using them in multiplayer

*EDIT* also, i find the only difference it makes from having a cut screen and faster arrows is i think it feels more comfortable reading them, cause when i play SM on C650, i sit back and i can do it really easily, but FFR its a bit stress full because while the arrows seem to be going fast, they are just going at C360 and you just have a shorter time to look at it and comprehend the patterns which are squashed together, it just makes it more stressful, not much harder

This is exactly asking the same thing as:

                              Re: Speed Mods in Multiplayer

Screen shrinking comes close to being the same, but speed mods are an advantage. I always play 2 - 5x on SM and I'm sure FFR with speed mods would help me improve my scores drastically. Speed mods are an add on meant to give users an advantage. Therefore, MP against people without speed mods while using mods is not fair, whether SS does the same thing or not.

No it is not the same Concertm. Screen shrinking is a personal choice, not something that was added into the game in order to give players better gameplay.
