    Re: One Handed...

honestly I don't care enough to switch, plus then I don't look as good as front of my friends if I'm using two hands, hahahaha. I could probably be preatty good at this game if I switched to two hands and started to try to learn it, but it's simply not as fun, I feel like I'm trying to be good, not enjoying myself when I do that.

P.S what is considered the best style if you want to get good? I'm just curios, might want to try it out somtime.

I completely agree that any one hander that switches to spread could do better than they could one handed. Hell, when I do index for fun I can do some songs better than I do one handed. ( LOL at me managing to FC playdoh on index )

As for Korny,. . . still waiting for that vid of I am Maid. . .

      Ps.
If I'm right my beautiful honeyz Darkie-Sharkie Poo used to be one handed.

      She's so . . . SO . . . !

this wouldn't mean you're better than him, just better at one song. . .

Air FC isn't really that great w/ one hand. I only have a problem Iw/ one pattern that happens on Air. . . at least I did last time I checked.

Edit: Yea, only one pattern catches me off gaurd. It's the back roll with the 64ths? (the orange arrows)

[Rose] and Pretty Green Onions are both harder IMO.

Before I make my point, let's make it clear that playing songs well one-handed is clearly harder than playing songs well spread. Good? Good.

By this statement, do you mean to say that *hypothetically speaking* if a one-handed player AAA'd let's say, Etude To A Dragon - which is hard to AAA for one handers due to jacks inbetween 16th runs - it wouldn't be as impressive as a spread player, who has access to 8 different arrows to hit?

Alright you have like convinced me to give spread a go, but which fingers go where? It's all close together when i have 2 hands down there... NOTHING SUSS.... but which fingers go on which keys? At the moment, without knowing anything, i have left middle finger on up arrow, left pointy finger on left arrow, right pointy finger on down arrow and right middle finger on right arrow. Is that the norm or? I just watched Arch0wls video of Quasar on 150% speed and he only had his left pointy finger on left and down, so yeah, what do you guys use?

                    Re: One Handed...

You know what, when my middle finger went out on CIA Rave, I started playing only with my index finger for my right hand. It's somewhat better because your fingers aren't fighting over a button giving more accurate presses. The only thing is you have to be faster with that finger. This is just me though.

I don't really care about who plays with what, I care about me and what I'm comfortable with. If some level 49 person plays with one hand, so be it. I don't think that makes that person per se better than the rest or most, but they may be faster with one hand than most (though I really don't see a person pfc with one hand on something like Flight of the Bumble Bee or something of the sort)

I personally find one-handed to be far more fun. Of course I realize the advantages of playing spread. I used it to pass songs like flight of the bumblebee, cia rave, molto vivace, etc, and it brought my overall rank from ~5.5k to ~4.5k, but since this game tends to be more about fun and less about maxing scores for me, i don't see any reason to use a method that is less fun for me.

there are so0o many one handed players who have a higher ranking

but i kno, a person could have a higher ranking that you and you could still do better on a song...that's just how it is

Why can't one and two handers just get along? i use two hands on difficult parts and one on easy parts, i mean, it's not the worst thing in the world

oh of course, my rank hovers in the 1700's, but this kid is definitely better than me. although, there's no reason for this teenager to get so ****y. and i totally agree that a one-hander doing well on a tough song is definitely impressive. hell, if a one-hander even passes one minute waltz (without any two-handed button smashing), i will applaud them to the whole forum.

exactly...well im actually a person who doesn't worry about my ranking. im glad it's actually in the 4 digits...but i still let my 5 year old niece play on my account at times...and if i'm at the end of a song and need to do something, i don't care if i have to miss all the rest

but anyways back on subject...this really shouldn't be a debate topic, tho we all have a lot to say. some ppl are 1 handed and some are 2...some go both ways, and some would be labeled under 'other' :] and that's just how it is

agreed. im really not debating. i just tend to go on the defensive when some jerk says, "one-handers suck" or something along those lines. i really don't believe that people should care about being competitive on something as silly as ffr. it's always been about personal achievement for me.
