Personally, I say no. I believe that two hands, while it makes things easier at first, eventually allows you to reach a new level of skill. The impressive thing when playing stepmania and FFR is not the number of hands, but one's ability to comprehend dozens of arrows on the screen at once.

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
Double setup is using more than 1 finger for 1 or more arrows. It's possible to use 8 fingers for the 4 arrows and that's double setup.
EDIT:It's actually possible to use 10 fingers and 10 toes and whatever else at the same time...Comment

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
Heh, alright. I use my left ring finger on the left arrow, left middle on down arrow, right ring on numpad 6, and right middle on numpad 8. I brought this up because I had a debate with my friend's brother on the issue. He can complete fairly challenging songs, like the lawn wake series, using 3 fingers on one hand. I think he was just jealous of my dragonforce ability : PLast edited by RamzaDragoon; 03-21-2007, 04:23 PM.Comment

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
Well, I prefer one hand, because my other hand always messes me up. But I agree, using two hands isn't cheating.Originally posted by SynthlightButt Sauce.

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
Ramza: try using middle and index instead of middle and ring. your index finger is much stronger than your ring finger.
also... every single top player uses 2 hands.RIPComment

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
I believe FFR is basically made for 2 hands, and one handers are definitely handicap.
Double setup is considered cheating x 1000 imo.Comment

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
I play index. I was born index. 2 hand index. The thought of not playing index never even crossed my mind. But that's just me. Whatever works for you is what you should stick with. There isn't a "right" setup. There is just your way.

Re: Two hands - Cheating?
Two is the right way to go.
Think of it as two hand players are the light side, one hand
players are on the dark side. Nah, just kidding! Theres
actually many cons on pros for each type of hand postitioning.
