and i honestly did do around 145 legit senior year, and it was doing paragraph's for 1-2 minutes, i wouldn't lie about something stupid like that. i guess it just was less capitalized letters and simpler words.

back from October... that is the FFR usergroup on TyperA, and excellent typing website. 784 characters per minute... or over 13 per second... is the record. ap is by far the top of FFR who has joined.

A different keyboard with the keys layed out differently. Most of the fastest typists in the world use it.

And 700 some characters per minute is pretty fast XD 150 or so words per minute I guess if you average it out.

Reach can you find us a pic of the type of keyboard ur talking about? cause i looked in google and i found numerous types but i don't know which is which. Anyway, I was the fastest typer in my school (well..at least for the kids who took the typing class...which is almost everyone, since its required at our school)...for some reason my comp. teacher was so amazed that i type faster than her that she took me to the principal's office and had me show everyone how fast i was at typing n crap. lol. it was weird and random but oh well. I typed faster than anyone in the school, including the people who worked in the front desk/office. Thats pretty sad.

qwerty is obselete when it comes to speed now. It was only used on old type writers, and is still used because...mostly everyone uses it. This keyboard is built for pure speed though. All of your most commonly uses keys are home row.

how did they come up with "dvorak" from those keys? It doesn't make much sense. How long did it take you to relearn everything, it seems like it would be annoying at first but then once you got used to it you could blaze through everything.
The reasong people can't type fast on qwerty keyboards is because when they were made for typewriters they didn't want people to be able to type fast, they would jam tge letters.

They arranged dvorak keys in order of how common they are in the english language. The most accessable keys are the most common letters and the hardest to hit (like z and x) are the most uncommon letters.

I type on my good days about 150-160 wpm with about.. 96% acuracy, most of my errors are becuase i cant spell not becuase i cant type, but on my bad days my accuracy drops to about 89% however, to get a perspective on how fast i type, i type as fast as normal paced people speak.. thats with making eroor corrections in the midst of it all...

i wish i could, but i dont have java on my computer.. yeah i know.. i just recently restored it.. ill get on it though.. alright?.. by the way.. i have been using computers nearly everyday since i was about.. 7.. maybe 8.. so i have plenty of practice
