    Subconcious FFR?

Ok...... Well.... I just put this topic in general talk, cuz this has to do with noobs, challenges, bragging, and all that good stuff inbetween....

Anyways... You know how when you read a book, sometimes you tend to tune out, and think about something else, and then when you tune back in, you are down at the bottom of the page, but even though you were still reading, you have no idea what just happened, cuz you tuned out....

Well.... This is what this topic has to do about, but not tuning out while reading, tuning out while playing FFR....

Recently, a person by the name of M8mamiya wanted me to chellenge them, and so I did.... Normally I would break under the pressure of challenging someone, and miss a step or two that would normally be easy, but this challenge for once was out of the ordinary.... With this challenge, at almost the beginning of the song, I basically just started thinking about a movie I saw in the theatres recently, and then 2 minutes later, I just tune back into FFR near the end of the song, and notice that while I was tuned out, at the same time, I was playing FFR, on One Last Battle to be exact....

The crazy thing was, that my score at the end of the song, was better than I had ever done.... You can see my stats on the pic I attached, this is where I brag.... lol....

So this is what I'm also trying to get at.... A lot of people try to think of ways to find out how to tell if you have crossed over the line from being a noob, to being one of the true players of the game.... And this is another thing I'm trying to point out, I think that if you ever subconciously just tune out of FFR during a song, then I think that is when you are no longer a noob, because the weight of the game isn't on your shoulders, you don't have to freak out about every keypress you do and you don't have to be intent and extremely focused on the game, but more laid back, and enjoying playing FFR and having a good time.....

So yeah.... Has anyone else ever just tuned out like I did? That and whatdya think about my score, eh? I think it's one of the sexier screen shots I have.... To think the first good was from almost the first arrow (stupid me) and the second good was from when I tuned back into FFR and was like, "HUH!? The song is almost over already? WTF?"..... lol

So yeah.... I hope what I said made some sense to it.... By the way.... As for M8mamiya, he has yet to accept the challenge yet....~sigh~.... anyways.... any thoughts people? Peace out....

Yeah, happens to me 2. When I play a crazy part like in Burnout or Beethoven Virus or whatever,i'm amazed myself that I can move my fingers so fast, and i completely forget about FFR, altough i get all the arrow right (most of the time :P)

I tune out during FFR a lot, mostly during songs with nice long runs like OLB or Wata liek Puden

I don't think I've had quite the same thing happen. But in some of the songs I've been playing there are longer and/or faster runs and these are usually hard for me to read and pass. Well, every now and then, I'll hit one of these points and do better on it than usual which regularly surprises me. I'm going so fast and just trying to keep up with the stream so I don't fail that I have trouble believing I'm actually getting that many right sometimes. *shrug* I guess sometimes the signal goes straight from my eyes to my hands and bypasses conscious recognition or thought.

Essentially retired now, but still ranked on the list of FFR's Top One Handers.

That happened to me the other day on Rondo, and I got an average score. Well, when I focused I got a better score. I put so much focus into FFR that if I try to Multitask things get messed up.

That sentence does not sound like a 5th grader said it. It has big words.

Yup, I zone out a lot when playing it, you'd think not concentrating would make you worse, guess not. Sometimes I don't even look at the screen and play with my periferal vision without even really noticing it =/.

To me zoning out hurts me because I focus too much when zoning in, but have no stress or worry.

One time, a long time ago, I was playing pokemon late at night when I should have been sleeping. The crazy thing is that I was sleeping while I was playing. I even continued to do what I'd been doing when I was awake (I think I was doing that switch technique so that a weak pokemon can level up faster).

Also, I zone out almost always on FFR. It's good fun to think of the plots of movies or carry on complex conversations with others in the room while playing.
