Glitching while playing.

And are you SURE about the video card thing? Even when the video card is so bad that it often glitches up my display, causing weird lines, or making the right half fuzz over?

I'm sure my video card has something to do with it. Becuase I have 512 MB of RAM and a 1300 Athlon processor (I know, not that fast) and I can't for the life of me run FFR under high quality. It's unplayable. I wish I knew just a bit more about computers, enough to know whether there's other things in there that could be screwing it up.

I'd be willing to deal with very minor glitches/pauses that don't throw off my timing in the game and make me blow combos because I'm tapping an even rhythm in the middle of a run and the pause throws off that even rhythm. I noted that my laptop is 2 years old. Some of you must have newer machines because the stats are better than mine. I have a Pentium III, 800 MHz, 256 MB RAM, nVidia GeForce2 card with 16MB RAM, and still running WinME. That ought to be the real guts of it and what might affect the game. Oh, I normally run IE for a web browser. I'm well aware that machines are much better now, but I still don't see what's so complicated about this Flash game that this isn't enough to run it without pausing. I mean, it's not like I'm on a 386 with like 64 MB RAM and Win 3.1 or something. Once I graduate (soon) I intend to buy a new machine and that should get rid of the problem. If for some reason it doesn't, I'll be convinced that the game's requirements to run without pausing are insanely and unrealistically high.

First of all, I'm positive about the video card thing. If this were SM, it'd be different. But even if you're running an incompatible video card that screws up your actual display, it wouldn't make the game slow and glitchy. As far as your computer goes, your problem probably lies with your 1300. It's probably clocked somewhere around 1.0, 1.1 Ghz, which isn't very fast. Your RAM might be slow as well if you bought it awhile ago, maybe it's only PC2300 or something. You could have spyware, you could have a trojan, you could have a virus...but I can tell you with 99% certainity that it isn't your GPU.

Okay.. thanks Anticrombie. I don't have spyware or anything. I'm paranoid about that stuff. I also like to check my processes all the time so I always know what's running... though I know viruses may disguise themselves. I could possibly have a trojan or virus but I haven't seen any of their effects, sooo....

the image thing did not work...i have spyware, mcafee and Norten anti virus stuff, oh and pop up blocker stuff..but im not taking that stuff off b/c it really helps with virus's and stuff..
