Pretty irritated that profile badges were added to the prize pool only days before the tournament ended; I would have joined had I seen those were publicized from the get go or at least much earlier on than they were since I don't care for solely credits.

From the day the tournament was announced, it was at least implied/described that I was -trying- to make that happen. The reason it did happen was that I was able to get access to / and programmer help from people from whom that help was not guaranteed. I didn't want to come out day 1 and promise something I might not be able to deliver. As soon as I could deliver it, I promised it. Don't worry, there will be more blitzes.

The profile badges are cool and all but they would be better if they included division.
The token interface is a huge giant mess of nonsense. There have been 11 official tournaments, and because the official badges show division, and also have participant, top 8, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st versions, in order to actually have those, that section had to have 305 individual badges designed, uploaded, and manually given out.
To just have a 'participant' and 'top 3' and 'first' badge for the blitz, there are instead of 35 badges per tourney ....three. That is basically WHY the badges got to happen. Asking somebody to spend 5-10 minutes making a badge versus asking them to spend a couple hours making multiple badges just so it can show which division you played in turns it from "sure no problem" to "maybe if I have some time on the weekend, it sure would be nice if I could get compensated for all the graphic design"

Hmmm... that actually sounds good, just like in OTs. Perhaps for the next blitz tourney ;D *wink wink, devonin*

Then they should have been added starting with the next blitz, or the insinuation that they might be made available should have been made public knowledge through a front page post for the tournament itself, like every other time something like profile badges have been made available through a tournament or event. I have no idea where you were suggesting this, but I'm not going to delve through a tournament thread I didn't plan on joining after looking at what the prizes were to see if maybe badges will be added at any point for some reason. Or maybe this was suggested in discord, I have no idea. Regardless, officially sanctioned events that offer things more than credits should be made public knowledge through a fpp, and well in advance to a few days before the conclusion of said event.
a) It was in the first post of the thread
b) I can't make front-page posts because I don't have admin access to Wordpress
c) There's going to be lots of these, you can get others
d) They don't unlock songs or do anything besides commemorate participation
Edit: I went and checked, the original main body post for the tournament was posted May 17th, for a tournament starting May 19th
By May 18th, before the tournament even started, I had changed from "Something new I hope!" to "If I can get them implemented, profile badges"
The images for how the badges look weren't added to the thread until the 30th, but the description of badges like the OT had was in there before the event even started.

Yes, and I saw the first post of the thread very shortly after it was up, when there was still no mention of profile badges. You could have gotten someone to make a front page post on your behalf, staff members did that for me prior to myself having access and I did the same for others several times once I was given access. And I'm well aware profile badges don't come with any added functionality, not sure why that's being brought up as a counterpoint.
My stance remains unchanged. Coming from someone that years ago mindlessly mashed garbage songs for hours to snag a profile badge for some gamewhoring competition that I truly didn't want to participate in, joining a tourney and quickly submitting 6 scores to get a corn badge is something I definitely would have done.
