What do we base our voting on? Sheer preference? Technical aspect? Some theme the songs are supposed to represent?
Any FFR song title discrepancies? List them here.

Reflections of Summer on top for sure, Requiem to Summer's Angel and Believe because I like the second part.

            Nev670- Essential Speed:
LOVED the bass in the beginning. The whole song sounds like something out of a DOOM game, and that's a very good thing. My only major critiscism is it suffered from a lack of catchy hook, it just felt too freeform and nothing immediately memorable. But still, it rocks hardcore.

            Macgravel- Rain Clouds (Short Version):
I immediately though of Beaker Sunset, lol. Very similar style, and done pretty well. This is just a personal feeling but it felt a bit too heavy on the downbeat. The piano was really good.

            ce1545- [31545 mix]:
Very cool intro synth, I also loved the ethnic drumming that started up midway through. Felt like a backing track to some gritty FPS game like Unreal Tournament, or to some breakdance routine. Again, no real melodic hook, but it does accomplish setting a very distinct mood. It did drag on a bit long, but thats not really a problem for a dance track nor a video game BGM so it doesn't matter too much.

            Calcium Deposit- Mr. Big:
Felt very FL studio + Newgrounds sounding. The spooky background choir thing was quite cool. The bass got rather old, and this song definitely suffers from its lacking in the melody department. It's a distinct style of music, and I've got to admit it's done rather well, but just not my personal style.

            DJ Prospect- Believe:
Rather generic start, but it did pick up. I agree with KgZ's comment about energy and power. Actually, this reminds me of some of Sane's songs, which have a very similar feel. The calm part was excellent, by far my favorite part of the song. The ending was very uplifting. So, I think I liked it overall.

            Luppolo- Play it:
Another FL studio + Newgrounds creation. The melody kind of overpowered everything else when it came in and kinda felt out of place, but then it started to grow on me. Once it that synth really got rolling, I started to love it. Unfortunately, when the bass drum stopped the song kinda just didn't go anywhere. I'd have prefered a complete release of the energy and complete cease of the melody synth, and then gradually build up.

            Frankie Rocks- Stripes:
Needs major work on the transitions. The calm -> drum fill and then back to the calm synth felt... out of place. The melody was never really developed that well. Plus, it just died. Basically, too short and not enough sweet.

            iPatch- Rocket Punch:
NES music! The drumwork was excellent, and this was really the first song thus far to have a downright GOOD melody. The only complaint would be the ending... Felt too abrupt. But this is still probably my favorite so far.

            Specforces- The Summer She Died:
Very spooky. Created quite a bit of cringe inducing moments, but never overly so. Very well balanced between scary, chill, and unsettling. Unfortunately, this is another one that's quite well made but doesn't really tickle my personal fancy.

            Anwar Louis- Forgotten Summer:
Very atmosphereic and very chill. The melody wasn't bad, and I liked the overall feel. Some of the pitch bends were immensely satisfying, but some of them created a rather unfortunate effect that really killed the chill mood. But it wasn't too bad.

            SleeplessDragn- Requiem to Summer's Angel:
Interesting, a third summer themed song. Guess that's popular now that summer's ending. Anyway, it was good, but the vocals didn't seem right. Too high pitched, plus some of the effects placed over them made them feel like they wre fading in and out too much. I dunno, the underlying music was pretty good, but the vocals were a minus point to me. This one is just weird to judge, but I'll just have to say it's not my style.

            Cosmovibe- Reflections of Summer:
            ANOTHER summer song. Jeez.
Okay, this is definietly the most technical song of the bunch in terms of the music theory behind it. Each movement had a different feel, and I have to say I enjoyed each one. As the bass kicked in for the "Wake up" theme, the song just took off and I really started to get into it. Unfortunately, it still suffers greatly from being too damn MIDI sounding, but that doesn't detract too much from just how damn well made it is.

Overall: I'm suprised with the quality of songs out of this competition. Only one was really bad in my opinion, all of the rest I'd gladly put on my iPod and listen to while driving or something. I found that some of the songs reeked a bit too much of generic Fruity Loops -> Newgrounds electronica for me to enjoy them.

I guess my picks have to be (in no particular order):
            Essential Speed
            Rocket Punch
            Reflections of Summer

A very close fourth would be [31545 mix]. It's super well done for backing music, but I just couldn't totally get into it without more of a melody.

Man it was really hard to choose... Mainly because you can choose what part of the song you want to listen to and have to start it over again each time... I think I managed to make my choices even though I had to listen most of them 4-5 times.
