I'd assume MP admin would be more of a figurehead and official representation with their adminship.

As for my statement concerning why I didn't think this tri-state area would be a smart idea: I said that in accordance with an official FFR convention, the kind Synth and gang ran back a few months ago. It was opportune for them because it was decently nearby, there was a large concentration of DDR players, and it was held at an anime convention. I'm not really sure if there are any large enough anime conventions around to merit the trip.

As for an FFR meetup, I'm all for that. I'm a little over 3 hours from NYC, but I think sometime in the near future would be cool.

            Re: New Jersey Convention

In my opinion, It would either be in New York City, Or Six Flags in Jackson NJ. It will solely depend on money issues and what people want to do. Either is going to cost money in the first place, considering a NYC meet up will definitely have to last longer than two hours and I would assume we would be walking/subway everywhere. It's kind of tough walking around with a crowd of more than 15 people in NYC.
If Six Flags is an option, we would obviously have to get other people to go. Only problem with this is the age of people going, and well, money issues. It would be fun though, but I think it would be more appropriate for an older crowd.
Only other thing I can think of is, we find a really nice internet cafe, and rent it out for a certain amount of length. Either that or find someone with a house, that is large enough to hold a decent amount of people. We literally have more than 40 people in the tri-state area that are less than 2 hours away from any big city.
I was planning on putting together some type of meet up, but not until at least May, when school is just about over. We have plenty of time to work with, so lets take it and work something out.

EDIT: Just so there's not confusion, if I were to put something together, it wouldn't be anything "official" like Synth's meet up. It would be more of a gathering, in which myself and a few others would plan.

I have a place in mind that would be Ideal for up to about 40-50 people.

It's called Infinate games, in Blue bell PA. The place has at least 36 computers, three TV's, Xbox, Game Cube, Random other consoles, and a lot of multiplayer games.

Used to be a place that hosted Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. I might be able to convince the woman that owns the place to rent it out for a day to us, Otherwise, she charges (or used to a year ago) $3 an hour, and better rates if you're planning on staying longer.

I tried to get a Six Flags thing going this summer, But nobody commited, and I dropped it.

Oooh yeah Six Flags would be great. It's about an hour and a half ride for me but it's a ride I'm definitely willing to take. It's definitely one of the best theme parks around. The new wooden coaster is absolutely amazing btw

Dark, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Same with Tera's. Let's get a list of things going that are possible and we'll pick and choose out of those.

I'm seconding the panel if it ever gets considered by the rest of the staff, even if it may not fly with the people who don't really like anime. And yeah, DDR was canceled. Closest things we got to it was Beatmania US and the laptop with Stepmania that some guy brought it.

As for Six Flags, I probably won't go unless I can successfully convince my parents that it would be fine to meet up with people I know only from the internet and a dude who I know from an arcade in some place well over an hour away from home. That and even if it is to take place in May I'll likely end up doing post-AP assignments that I'll be a lazy dick with and work extremely slowly on.

A quick fix for a meet-up...Digital Life, anyone? This year it'll be on the last weekend of September.
