How is this all going to work?
Essentially this will be an event lasting multiple weeks over three rounds. All you have to do is submit yourself singing within the criteria given for a particular round, and adhering to the rules. Your submissions will be judged by our panel (out of 10), with the highest cumulatively rated user after the three rounds being the winner. When all the submissions for a round are judged, all of the judgements and notes will be posted in this thread.
Submissions will be appended to the above post as they come in. In the event users tie for a place after the final round, it will be up to the users to vote for their favorite of the tied parties!
If you start participating in this event, keep in mind the dates when rounds end. If you submit nothing for a round, you will receive a rating of 0 for it. Any submission at all will be better than a 0, and you'll lose out on participation prizes if you submit nothing. If something serious comes up preventing you from participating, and we are made aware of it ahead of time, a personal extension may be granted.
What are the submission rules?
- - Submit your content by posting your singing in this thread.
- - Your submission is final once you post it, do not try to submit something new or revised for the same round.
- - As songs are very different, we'll give some leniency for when you should stop. Your submission should be at least 45 seconds, to at most 90 seconds long.
- - No modifications of any kind are allowed to your vocals, with the exception of cutting out unneeded audio (and as such splicing parts together), and adding an instrumental version of the sung song in the background.
- - (new) Additionally, the removal of mic interference (e.g. pops, clicks, humming), is allowed as long as it has no affect on your voice.
- - Disregarding of any rules listed, as well as existing site rules, may result in an auto 1 rating, disqualification, or further punishment depending on the offense(s).
Submission tips and guidelines?
- - Instrumentals are allowed, but not required. If you add an instrumental, be sure it is not overbearingly loud, and that the quality is halfway decent. You won't get a good score if we can't even hear you properly.
- - Especially with an instrumental, be sure you're rhythmically accurate, and aren't lagging behind. This can make your overall performance be much worse depending on the severity, which will deduct points. If you pick up on doing this yourself beforehand, you should rerecord.
- - Quality can play a factor within rating, so try not to record your beautiful voice with a potato. Not looking for studio production stuff here, but if you're voice is being drowned by constant buzzing or humming, or you hardly even sound human after the mic is done with you, it won't go over well.
- - A submission which is easily accessible is appreciated. Something like Soundcloud is very good for this, especially considering it can be embedded in posts and messages. If we cannot access the data you submit, we cannot review it. If this cannot be resolved before the round's end, you'll get a 0.
- - These submissions are already short, so don't submit anything where you have long pauses (>3 seconds) between you and singing. If we get your submission and a large portion of it is silence from you, you'll lose points.
- - Try not to whisper sing. If you're throat is clear and you've got some force behind your voice, you should be able to hit various pitches within your range more easily and effectively.
What are the prizes already?
Okay so I'm sure you're wondering what you'll get if you participate in this event. Aside from a chance at stardom, you'll have the opportunity to receive:
1st place: 75,000 credits, and your choice of two event, support, or tournament fundraiser tokens!
2nd place: 50,000 credits, and your choice of two event, support, or tournament fundraiser tokens!
3rd place: 40,000 credits, and your choice of one event, support, or tournament fundraiser token!
Additionally, there will be a random draw of two tokens for those who didn't place in the top three. If you participate in all three rounds with legitimate submissions, you have a shot no matter what!
Participants who submit all three rounds will also receive 5,000 credits apiece. Even if you don't feel like you're the next singer to take the world over by storm, give it a shot!
Round information
Round: 3 (A.K.A. The final song on the big stage)
Restrictions: You may only sing a song which is on the FFR Songs list.
Allowances: You may sing the entire length of any song you select.
Current round ends: 4/11/2015 11:59PM server time
Remember, if you submitted for the first and second round, please submit for the final one! You won't get participation prizes if you miss a round
