The argument you guys are trying to make seems a little disingenuous.

Imagine a parallel universe where everyone played j5/l5 by default in stepmania but people still look down on scores with lower j/l than the normal. Someone who accidentally stepped into that parallel universe from ours and showed off their j4/l4 play would suddenly be lambastered as not playing the game properly.

Yeah, but why would there be a universe where everyone plays j1/l1? It's really really easy. You can pretty much gain health on stream by mashing. Still, a j1/l1 pass is better than nothing. (Go for the j4/l4 pass OP!)

I think as long as your judge and life add up to 8 it should be legit. You can play j1 if you use life7. 8)
