That's not the point, not the point at all. Tsutter and thaor can't even decide between the two of them which is better. Some people think thaor is better, some think tsutter is better. How will we settle this, you know what I think its impossible.

It's so simple, but you guys would rather guess blindly. I remember in my physics class last year when our teacher gave us a lab to do without math, we all struggled and tried to attach numbers to anything we could to find out our results mathematically, sometimes its just hard to believe in something that has no data backing it up. And when the data is so easily achievable, why don't you do it.

If you're not willing to look for more people, that's fine, force all the people who have occurred on all the top 10 lists in this thread to play a song set that tests their ability, like I said, I'd even be willing to do the math to organize the lists. This way, even if we did not have an accurate top 10, we'd at least know who was better than who in the upper echelons of stepmania fame.

duk's post says a lot, it says its hard as hell to tell who's better at stuff because of different strengths

exactly why you need a set of songs that can test the most important aspects of stepmania to determine who is the best

A mathmatical forumula can't determine what is more impressive to the community. Because you're going to have a fast song that all the speed players will do well on, and a slower song that all the accuracy people will do way better on, and we're be right back where we started.

The only flaw I could think with that is the fact that we can't just do our best at any time or on any file. I can't concentrate on a song I don't like which in turn would affect my MA.

I guess we would just need to do our best on whatever we're given.

DPs won't work for accuracy because RA isn't counted in DPs

Uhhh here is what you do mathematically you guys are dumb seriously its not hard at all

example

tsutter
speed song 365/412dp
accuraccy song 460/460dp
jumps song 345/380dp
OVERALL: 1167/1252 93.21%

thaor
speed song 372/412dp
accuraccy song 426/460dp
jumps song 350/380dp
OVERALL: 1148/1252 91.69%

Therefore
Tsutter > Thaor

of course these numbers were picked at random and the dance points are far too low aswell as the scores. But it's simple addition folks, it would take 15 minutes to add up the scores for everyone and arrange it. If I were going to pick the three songs, I'd probably say...

1. Death Reveals
2. Something long and streamy like strangeprogram or something
3. I'm a Maid
and optionally
4. NVLM BS to see who's better at really hard stuff (Red Sign or Earthquake)

RA is a third party modification outside normal stepmania, to ramp up the accuracy difficulty it would be much better to change the judge instead of asking people to use RA. Judge 6 on the accuracy song wouldn't be a bad idea actually...

Hey if we're going to mathematically do this, then let's force everyone who wants to participate to play the same songs and buy the same keyboard, and while we're at it, the same computer and monitor. </exaggeration>

We're just having some friendly competition. Probably the only accurate thing we could come up with is a list of insane players, really good players, and good players, even then, it wouldn't be 100% accurate and we're doing this just for fun.

Also, I didn't average the dance points, which I would do to make them all the same weight.

If you're just looking for a good players list, then don't rank them just put them alphabetically.
