Every once in awhile we release a song of the week that is so insane, so difficult, so mind blowing that I can merely sit back and watch the first few arrows fly by before I fail. This week we add one of those songs to our lineup. This song is suitable only to master players out there in FFR. I am not joking.. There are probably under 300 people out there out of 1 million players that can even finish this song with combo over 250.

Up for the challenge? ;)

Song: Grand Gallop Chromatique
Artist: Franz Liszt / A. Laviano
Stepfile Maker: Shashakiro
Genre: Classic
Difficulty: 13 (no name… with FotBB and Silence)

Good luck, you will need it.

Cheers,

Synthlight

First of all, I must say that I am amazed at the response we received on this contest. I wasn’t amazed by the number of people that responded but what they actually took the time to write. I fully expected 100% silly comments, but.. everytime I sat down to check the respsonses, I found myself reading real comments about what FFR means to them. It is just really amazing and we all really appreciate your words.

Seriously, thank you everyone for the support. Now there is something important at hand to announce. Yes, the easiest contest of your entire life has come to a close.

And the winner is…. aoe511!

aoe511, you have 24 hours from the time of this post to contact me via PM or somehow respond and let us know that you are indeed alive.

Thanks again everyone for all the kind words. We appreciate it like you wouldn’t believe.

Now go spread the word about FFR!! ;)

Cheers,

CobaltFluxPad

See that picture? Yeah, the one to the right. That is a $299 hard pad from Cobalt Flux. The best DDR hard pad that money can buy.

Do you want to win that pad? Of course you do. And… We are going to be the ones to give you a chance at it.

Right about now you are probably freaking out, thinking about how hard this contest is going to be. I mean, it must be something so difficult that only Shashakiro could win. Right?… Nope! In the long standing tradition of being spontaneous with our contests, we are going to make this contest so easy that anyone can enter and win. You don’t even have to speak English. Read more… »

Can You Believe It? 1,000,000 Members

Posted in Uncategorized on October 10th, 200690 Comments »

I still can’t.. I mean, I sit every day working on our games and I still can’t grasp the fact that after almost 4 years, we still have almost 1000 member signups a day. What amazes me even more is that people signup because they want to. They definitely don’t need to signup, but at the same time, they care to be an active participant on the site and want to watch their progress in the game(s). It is almost hard to believe.

This year has brought plenty of change to FFR. Probably the most change in it’s 4 year history. We have completely redesigned the site from the ground up, came out with 3 new games, developed a profile system, numerous new stat features, seen a few people move on, seen a few people move in, brought in some amazing new developer talents (Rickz0rz, Kit, Jason and more!) and just keep moving forward at a rocket like pace. Seriously, nobody will slow us down. Read more… »

Straight to Round 4

EDIT: If you’re using Internet Explorer and having some trouble getting into multiplayer or getting scores recorded–it’s being worked on, please be patient :)

Straight to Video, the MSI song that was accounced to be on FFR, has finally arrived! The steps are by Psychozerosk8er, it’s fairly long (3:44), and has a moderate difficulty level. Straight to Video can be found in the Rock section of FFR, and more information on MSI can be found in this news post.

Also (nice how these keep coinciding, eh), the fourth round of the FFR tournament has started–check this thread for details. The fourth round concludes the winners’ bracket for the Expert division, and will produce one finalist who will play the winner of the losers’ bracket.

Happy FFR’ing,

FFR Tournament Round 3 + Song of the Week

The third round of the tournament began two days ago–check this thread for which songs to play, matchups, and results from Round 2. If you’ve managed to make it to Round 3, don’t forget to submit by Wednesday, October 4th.

Also, the Song of the Week was released yesterday. This week’s song, Famouz, sets a record for being the shortest song ever added to FFR, at a mere 49 seconds in length–but with nearly 400 steps in that 49 seconds, it’s quite challenging, so don’t be fooled by the short length. The song is by Richee, an up and coming electro/rap artist who uses a unique blend of synthwork and sliced beats behind his lyrics to give his music a unique sound. He is currently attending college and working on his first album release. For more music by him, check out his official page at www.switchee.com. Famouz, stepped by Mead1, can be found in the Hip-Hop genre of FFR.
