Lift Up – Skill Token # 6/62

Lift Up is a cool techno beat by long time music producer Aerogroove. If you want to check out more of his stuff, go to his website. File is fairly straightforward. It’s a 7 in difficulty. Steps are by ~Zero~; this is his 1st song on FFR, but expect more from him!

To unlock Lift Up, you must get at least 340 perfects on the song 8-Bit Day Dreamer, also by Aerogroove. Yes, this req is very easy for a song that is of medium difficulty… there IS a reason for this, which will become clearer over the month. So no complaining!

With good reason too. Halt the presses, because this is a special public release! A break from the challenges of skill token month. To give you…. the GREATEST song of all time (well, 2nd. Next to TMWT.)

Created way back before I was even a member of this site…. sitting away in the back of NestleKwik’s hard drive, gathering dust…. was the song that made FFR famous. Immortalized for history, by the one… the only… Excluded. The song is so powerful, it’s only name is FFR.

For such a glorious song, we needed to have a glorious way to unveil it. We considered waiting all the way until November, for the site’s 5 year anniversary. BUT THAT WAS TOO LONG! We had to give the people what they wanted. So, after weeks of torturous thinking, it finally dawned on me. We would release this masterpiece as Flash Flash Revolution’s 300th song. At 3:00pm Central. On July THIRD. An alignment of the threes, possibly unlocking the triforce or the triumvirate. I only hope that we know what we’re doing.

My words can not give this song or file justice, so I will let all of you judge for yourselves. It can be found in the upper left hand corner of Misc. The file is by jimerax, and is the greatest chart ever released upon the public. I have heard rumors of better files by the great masters themselves…. but they were so powerful, they knew they could not be placed upon the simfile database, for fear of what might happen.

So Long To The Circus! BYE!

Nice new rock song, So Long To The Circus is by the band The World/Inferno Friendship Society. I don’t know much about them, and had asked Mead1 to write me up a paragraph about them, but he didn’t. So, I’ll stick to my normal commentary of saying that the song is lots of fun, full of bread and circuses. Besides, we all love new Rock songs.

Very very easy req to unlock this too, just hit at least 200 notes before failing. Total of perfects + goods + averages has to be at least 200. Erm….. on the song Victims & Martyrs.

So Long To The Circus is a difficulty 7, mostly because of its length. It’s over 3 minutes long (as most Rock songs released today are), and is almost all 8th notes. File is by the same lazy Mead1 who didn’t send me a paragraph about the band… which means you guys all have to read the same boring commentary from me over and over again. And over again.

Release the Battle Ax – Skill Token #4/62

Battle Ax is a crazy fun song by Onoken. 9 on the difficulty scale, with all kinds of jump triplets and 16th bursts with jumps in them. Rated a 9/12 on the difficulty scale. Stepfile is a collab between macgravel and Exag0n, two well respected stepfilers.

To unlock it, Full Combo ESC -Super Version- with 2 goods or less. No averages, no boos. either AAA, Black Flag, or 2 goods. as per levelstats, 61 people currently meet that req, but I suspect we’ll have more than that within 24 hours alone.

Basically…. you’re going to want to have this skill token. Battle Ax is worth it to whore ESC.

So, today is FINALLY July 1st. I no, rite? Couldn’t get here soon enough. Lets start off Skill Token Month with a bang! You are NOT going to want to leave FFR all day long. First off, 2 skill tokens will be released at some point today. They are:

Emotions v2, by Silver_Brian, our resident v2 simfile author. Emotions is one of our old-school files, a song by Trance [] Control and originally stepped by the one and only bemaniruler (who is so old in the bemani world that he actually coined the term stepfile). Very cool song, although unfortunately v1 is offsync. BUT! Now we have a v2 that isn’t and is tons of fun to play. Rated a 7 for overall moderate difficulty. Probably a low 7, IMO. To unlock it you’ll need to get 400+ perfects, 20+ goods, AND 20+ averages on Emotions v1 (which has 500 notes).

Calm (Short ‘n’ Slow Mix) is a very soothing, simple, and melodic song by Pyroshock. What do you know… the song is calming. Anyway, it is a 3 in difficulty… nice and easy to start the month off. File is by hi19hi19. The req to unlock it is also QUITE simple… get goods >= misses on I Can See The Light. Aka, you can AAA it and it’ll unlock, you could set autofail to perfects of 1 and hit the 1st note and unlock it… easy file, easy unlock.

Also, as you all are waiting for… other fun features will be added today too! I’ll be updating this thread when things (new features or songs) get added. So check back often!
