FFR Tournament Round 3 + Song of the Week
The third round of the tournament began two days ago–check this thread for which songs to play, matchups, and results from Round 2. If you’ve managed to make it to Round 3, don’t forget to submit by Wednesday, October 4th.
Also, the Song of the Week was released yesterday. This week’s song, Famouz, sets a record for being the shortest song ever added to FFR, at a mere 49 seconds in length–but with nearly 400 steps in that 49 seconds, it’s quite challenging, so don’t be fooled by the short length. The song is by Richee, an up and coming electro/rap artist who uses a unique blend of synthwork and sliced beats behind his lyrics to give his music a unique sound. He is currently attending college and working on his first album release. For more music by him, check out his official page at www.switchee.com. Famouz, stepped by Mead1, can be found in the Hip-Hop genre of FFR.
Tournament Round 2 and Song of the Week 2
The first round of the FFR R1 tournament is over, and Round 2 has begun! Check this thread to see the results and scores from Round 1, as well as the Round 2 songs and matchups for those who made it through the first round.
Also, this week will feature not one, but two new songs for FFR. The second song of the week will be Klung Kung 2004, which is already a Spin it Up song and will join the ranks of FFR songs tonight or tomorrow morning at the same time that Jelly Roll Blues is added.

FFR R1 Tournament – Round 1
In case you don’t know already, signups for the tournament are over, and Round 1 began this past Monday.
If you signed up for the tournament, check the first post of this thread to see what division you’re in, who you’re up against, and what song you’ll be playing. Remember, the tiebreak song is only needed if you and your opponent tie on the main song. Send a screenshot of the best score you can get on your division’s main song (you can submit as many screenshots as you want, only the last one counts) to [email protected]. You can also use FFR’s Private Message system to send me screenshots of your scores. Only scores achieved after the start of the round are valid.
More information and rules for the tournament can be found here.
The first round ends on Monday, September 18 at 10:00 AM EST. Don’t forget to submit a score before then if you’re in the tournament!

3rd Style Update!
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to keep everyone updated on our status with FFR 3rd Style. The programming part is moving along, but that’s not really my realm of expertise (Flash is like a foreign language to me). Instead, I’ve been working on gathering artists and songs for 3rd Style.
We have 21 songs gathered so far for 3rd Style, with absolutely no signs of stopping anytime soon. The best part about this is that I think that the music we’re getting is some of the best music we’ve ever had – and we’ve already got a great music lineup, so that’s saying a lot. In addition to new artists, there are many veteran FFR artists giving us new music – some who you would expect, some who you wouldn’t. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at some of the tracks you’ll find in 3rd Style.
Also, I know we’ve featured a lot of trance lately in our Songs of the Week, but the music we’ve got for 3rd Style is much more diverse. (I’ve got a genre list in front of me, and only four songs out of the 21 are trance!) There’ll be some much needed representation from other genres in the mix.
I am absolutely thrilled at all the progress we’ve been making so far. All of us are working really hard to make 3rd Style a reality, and I know you won’t be disappointed with the results.
Cheers,
Chardish and the rest of the 3rd Style team
Ranker My Server
So… ever since Jason and Synthlight made the upgrades and improvments to our quad opteron server, LD has wanted to really push the limits of our mysql server. A few mountain dew’s later, LD brings us Level Rank Stats. What the page will show you, when logged in, is a listing of your rank on every song you’ve played, ordered from best to worst.
What does this allow you to do? Well… it allows you to easily view what songs you might want to improve your rank on, in an off-game location.
This is still a beta-feature, so give the report some time to generate… we’re really giving the server a run for it’s money with this script, as it’s very server intensive. Let us know if you run into any problems.
More to come this July
Stay tuned.
