In Remembrance of Captain Jack
The song has now been removed from the game.
One year ago today, the Bemani community lost one of its great artists. On October 22nd, 2005, Francisco Gutierrez, better known as Captain Jack, passed away at the age of 43.
There’s no denying that Captain Jack was a very influential part of the DDR music genre, and here at FFR we want to honor that. One year ago, we released his self-titled theme song in the game for a week. In commemoration of all that Captain Jack did for the music world, we will be releasing the song once again, for a few days.
You can find the song in the first slot of the Dance genre, have fun, and remember the great man that Francisco was.
Tak tak tak, never looking back
Come and fight for Captain Jack
Say it slow, but say it loud
Join the peace camp and you will be proud
Cheers,
lightdarkness, and the Flash Flash Revolution staff

Man, can’t we keep the song on and let the memory of CJ live on here?
Posted at 6:06pm on October 22nd, 2006
The future of Captain Jack suddenly came into doubt when Gutierrez suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while walking with his son in Spain on October 17, 2005. Doctors predicted that the damage was fatal, and Gutierrez died on Saturday October 22, 2005, after spending five days in a coma.
Future proceeds on the sale of Captain Jack’s Greatest Hits album, which was being planned prior to Franky Gee’s death, will be given to his son, fellow rapper Franky Gutierrez. Later in 2006, Franky will revive the band as Captain Jack Junior.
“CJ Jr.” is the official title of Franky Gee’s son. He has recently been announced on a promotional site (see links below). It states that he is coming summer 2006 and that he will be doing a tribute to his father. His first known title is called I Love Reggaeton. It is uncertain if CJ Jr. will develop his own Latino style or follow the Military-Dance sound that made his father famous.-wikipedia
i hope this answers some questions and LONG LIVE CJ!!!

I still remember the first time this song was in FFR. It was rated for masters only, and it doesn’t remember anyone’s high scores on it. It’s a really great song, so Captain Jack must have been awesome.
Posted at 12:41pm on October 23rd, 2006
He had an amazing DDR repetoire. For anyone who isn’t such a DDR fan as I, here is a complete list (from memory :O ) of Captain Jack’s DDR hits, in order of release:
Captain Jack (Grandale Mix) – 3rd Mix
IN THE NAVY ’99 (XXL Disaster Remix) – 3rd Mix
The Race – 3rd Mix
Only You – 4th Mix
Dream a Dream – 4th Mix
My Generation (Fat Beat Mix) – 5th Mix
Odoru Ponpokorin – 5th Mix
Little Boy (Boy on Boy Mix) – DDRMAX 2
Centerfold (130BPM Mix) – SuperNOVA
I hope that’s everything, sorry if I missed one or something is wrong. Please feel free to blatantly point it out.

Thank you so much, last year when he died I bought a crapload of tokens for my local arcade and played DDR for hours straight playing only his song. The “Captian Jack Memorial Tokens” are still in the bag they came in, in all this time I still haven’t managed to use them all. R.I.P. Captain Jack, the best captain in any Navy anywhere.
PS. If you don’t know who Captain Jack is, then don’t worry about it. However he is very well known in the DDR/FFR community.

Capt. Jack. i can’t believe he’s….. gone…
If only i can say 1 thing
that would make someone dance
get outta bed
and start doing jumping jacks
jack jack jack
if only he were here today
none of the misery and pain
would be all inside us
it’s driving us all insaine
why did he have to die
sutch a horrible way to die
at least we can al remember him
in our hearts,
souls,
minds,
bodies,
and most importantley, in our feet.
so as the captain goes 6 feet under
and goes to cease
all we can say is
rest in peace.

Captain Jack was a massive fag. All his rhymes suck, and his style is weak beyond weak.
Still too bad that he passed away because he was probably a good guy blah blah, but his music simply sucked major ass.

Posted at 10:43pm on October 31st, 2006
SOMEONE GET RIGHTS TO THE SONG AND UPLOAD IT!!!
Posted at 11:15pm on October 31st, 2006
i bet it wasn’t because of rights, i bet it was because many people have different feelings which could start racism, flamewars, people complaining about ffr in general, and other things way worse, which really isn’t good for the kiddies. Or it could be because it was “remembrance” which means looking back into the past. If we kept the song for ffr it wouldn’t really be a remembrance. who knows, it could be because they don’t have rights to the song

I first met Franky Gee, in 1988 while he was a Dj at the Monte Carlo a now closed Danceclub in Wiesbaden Delkenheim in Germany he later helped me get a job in Russelsheim at the then popular club, “Voyage” as a Bouncer and even gave me my first break in the entertainment industry as leadman for a group he produced called Warp Machine, we traveled to Paris,Prague, London & Budapest together & shared all things bf share not including gf’s. I loved him like a brother,..just found out today for sure, 6 years after his death, (although Iheard rumours) that he died, we lost contact because he hit on me after knowing him over a decade, (so jesus you weren’t exactly wrong) not to tarnish his memory just simply the truth, he didn’t write any of his songs, (they were military cadence) definitely a womanizer & in the closet w the rest. bottom line regardless of your imperfections, Francisco you are missed.
