The Best of the Best: The Active Top FFR Players
Howdy there! Scottish’ here, to present to you something different tonight.
You all have probably seen the thread entitled “Updated FFR Top Players list” in FFR General Talk, which is a thread that allowed people to be ranked depending on skill, not just overall score.
After realizing that the thread was obsolete and disorganized, Jimerax and I, along with others, came up with a new system that is more reliable and will allow us to rank users according to an entirely new system. The process of going through the old thread, looking over all of the ranked players, and re-ranking them according to this system will be long and tedious, so please be patient as we are trying our best to get it done.
The thread can be found here. It is currently being revised and added on to, so expect it to be a little disorganized for now. After everything is put together, you can expect it to be another “Official” ranking system. Onto another issue, the thread is there for you, the users. If you feel like you meet the requirements to make the list, post in the thread asking to be added, dont be shy 
. We want to make the top players known, not hidden. Other than that, I think I covered almost all of it. Feel free to make comments or suggestions in that thread, they are always appreciated.

So it is clear…. this isn’t technically OFFICIAL… given that it is just being done by members of the community and is only listed in the forums.
BUT… it is a fairly accurate way to measure the skill of FFRers, moreso than Overall Rank… and while it is less accurate than Average Rank, many top players don’t want to have to play all of the easy & offbeat songs to get a great average rank. This system ignores all of those songs and only takes into account the more on-sync files (for the most part)… definately only the harder files.

Maybe something like this should be in R3 where songs are considered “ranked songs” and it follows a system just like this.
