*ahem* Possessed much?
I've been trying to have a lucid dream. They usually just happen when I somehow remember what 'lucid dream' means. It's mostly a spontaneous thing.
Here's a little tip: lucid dreams are more likely to occur during afternoon naps.Comment

I note that myself. Another trick for lucid dreaming is to sleep out a natural sleep cycle - that is, don't set your alarm and don't let anyone wake you up. And when you wake up naturally as morning comes, don't get out of bed. Just fall back asleep.Originally posted by JustJonoHere's a little tip: lucid dreams are more likely to occur during afternoon naps.
It's like tripping, I swear. You never know where your subconscious will take you next. It's marvellous.Comment

Yeah, that works great when you don't have school. Works good for the rest of this week and during the upcoming weekends.Comment

Well I did a bit of studying on the subject, not so much about lucid dreaming, but about dreams themselves. If you find yourself having nightmares constantly, you might not be able to figure out how to stop it. But tests have actually shown that you are much MUCH more likely to have a nightmare if you are sleeping in a cold room. So first thing to check is whether or not you are warm when you go to sleep. Also, if you related to something that goes far back, and eventually leads to many other events, you may find that you dream of something, and then that eventually links to something else, making it seem incredibly realistic.
My own dreams actually tend to scare me sometimes, because they are... well.... TOO real. I had a dream that a bunch of people came to our house and started setting off bombs outside our house, and each one gave off a deafening sound. I had this dream for an incredible amount of time, and it felt incredibly real. The thing that scared me the most was that when I woke up, my ears were ringing. I didn't listen to any loud music, or anything loud at all for that matter. Very Strange.....

Spazzbite, that's like the time I woke up at 3 am and got ready for school (thinking that my alarm went off. I could have sworn I heard it.)
Also, speaking of nightmares, nightmares are especially scary during lucid dreams. Make sure you maintain complete control of your dream, and don't let any subconciousness slip in a bit of scary details to your dream. But if your lucid dream does end up turning into a nightmare, simply confront your fear. If a stalker is after you with a hacksaw, run to him and give him a big hug. That sort of action helps you get rid of the scary thing and helps you confront your real fears too.Comment

Or you can always bail out of a dream....
I have an interesting story to tell. I had this dream about 5 years ago. I was in the back yard of my house when this evil sorceress appeared out of the ground. She had a chainsaw and I knew she was going to kill me. I ran like hell, but she kept following me.
Then I went lucid. Realizing it was a dream, I said to myself "I've gotta get out of here. Wait a minute - you never die in dreams! So if I just try to kill myself, it'll end the dream!"
I stand about 10 yards from the brick wall of my house....I aim my head down, so i'm looking at the ground...and I sprint like mad, bull-charging the wall of the house at full speed...I see the wall getting closer, closer...
And bolt upright in my bed.Comment

LOL! Ever have a dream that you're falling, then you wake up seeing the floor flying at you?
Anyway, speaking of waking up, if you feel that you're about to wake up, just spin yourself. Spin for about 10 seconds, then stop. That should keep you asleep. (Spin in the dream, of course, not in reality.)Comment
