Don't you just want to die?

Hey FFRers, here's another topic to boggle your mind,

I was thinking about death and, I mean, it being innevitable I'm sure theres a time in everybody's life when one contemplates the concept of death. I myself have been thinking very hard about the subject and really can't get my head around it.

    Two possible out comes are:

    1) You either believe in a God and will get the reward/punishment of living for eternity in heaven/hell.

    or

    2) Well nothing, you are no longer living, your body goes into the soil to make nurishment and continue the "circle of life".

Of course this is at its simplest, but taking just the above two out comes in mind both have the impossible concept of infinity to grasp. I my self at a age to yet complete my education am facinated by this and am eager to find out what this "sensation" of death is like. ( regardles of how strange it may sound )

Would love to hear everyones thoughts/views. However would like you all to refrain from the turning the topic into a huge religious/thiest debate (for now at least) and just comment on what you think will happen once your "clock has ticked" and give a brief explaination for why you think this.

    Looking forward to replies,

My opinion is death is just like going to sleep and never waking up. Unless it's painful..

i think about it all the time...it weird because my heart wants to believe in god and my mind wants to believe in evolution and all that...so i can imagine what death is like in the first sense, but if evolution is true, what exactly happens after death...nothing, i cant contemplate it

I believe in God, just because of how complex everything in the world is. Stuff like this doesnt happen by chance. Like how complex a watch is, we know it has a creator to put all those parts together to make it work, they just didnt fall by chance and form a watch. So the complexity of an eye, it has a purpose and is so complex, so it must have creator, which is God.

            Eye: God

if you keep dropping the parts in different orders for millions of years.. it will all come together and work eventually.. which is what evolution is based on.. nothing happened over night.. evolution took time to happen..

              But about death..
Like makaveli said.. i cant contemplate death.. i try and think about what it would be like dead.. but it wouldn't be like anything.. cause your brain wouldn't be working.. it wouldn't be like sleep because you know when you are asleep.. and you can easily, if you wanted, wake yourself up.. but while dead.. your brain isn't working.. so you have no thoughts.. its just like sitting in a black room.. too dark to see anything.. but then again.. you know your in a dark room and your brain knows this so you still have your thoughts on the dark room.. you can't compare death to anything.. because everything you do involves your brain.. except death.. so to try and think of how it would be like to not use your brain.. it would be like... nothing.. shit would just end...

Although i wish there was something after life.. like.. maybe waking up into another being.. like reincarnation..(which is basically what i think will happen), you will not know about your previous life, and you will be forced to live another life not knowing that you had a previous life.. and you will continue like that until something catastrophic happens.. and the world ends.. but then.. where do you go?...

To get off of that question.. and back on topic.. I feel it is impossible to conceptualize what death is like..

Karma would be really cool. You get to live another life.

i dont see how people can think reincarnation is what happens because if you don't remember anything from a previous life, and you aren't the same physically or mentally, then you aren't the same person at all, except for your 'soul', but what would your soul be? if its not personality or physical traits..what is it in the end? to me reincarnation and karma just sound like more clever ways than christianity to make people live good lives.

I think all people should have religion. What's the loss if you just cease to exist?
Also, if you just die and wonder if there is a heaven/hell and you don't believe anything, then it's not likely you'll be in heaven.
                    I still exist...

well for anyone who is athiest you can't just make yourself belive in a religion just because you are scared you might go to hell. to me thats being a coward. its ok if you truly believe in a religion though, but doing it because you think something bad might happen to you is stupid.

I believe that your fate is determined by what you believe in. If you believe in heaven then you will go to heaven when you die..if you believe in reincarnation you will be reincarnated..if you believe in nothing well maybe you will just dissipear...and yes I do believe in a higher force above us..it just has to exist. Something had to create the universe..I know about the big bang theory and stuff, but something had to make that giant mass of matter that exploded..so there must be a God.
One day there will be a really cool sig here. But not right now.

Well, it seems to me that it will be the same as before you were born. You're not there, but you don't remember it, and you don't feel it.
