    Hydrogen Powered Cars

What are your opinions on this issues? One problem I can see from having hydrogen powered cars are accidents which may result in huge explosions... Otherwise it's a very good idea.

Well, they are hydrogen cell powered cars which I dont think are that unstable. The cells provide electricity and thus a more efficient electric car. GM is working on it. I read an article about it. Pretty freakin awesome.

i don't see why having a hydrogen operated car is any more dangerous than a gasoline operated car

The only problem I see is from an economic standpoint. What if these cars get really expensive and no one can afford them and then when we run out of oil they become even more valuable and then only people like the president can own one and it causes society to go down the crapper?

yeah if this gets to a point where it replaces the need for oil, the world's economy would go crazy...

Well, then terrorist groups would lose their funding. Which, last time I checked, was what the U.S was trying to accomplish. But somehow everyone over looks the fact that 1/2 the united states drives a fucking SUV.

On an unrelated question...if you set a car on fire, will it explode or just catch on fire?! What makes it explode, if it does? Say you set it on fire with a match.

hmm replacing the oil industry would get rid of a lot of gas stations and hopefully make the nation better. It'll happen extremely slowly, of course. Think of how a lot of people made the switch from dial-up to broadband.

Theres a little problem here... where do you get the hydrogen from without expending huge amounts of energy to get it? You can separate hydrogen out of water (using an electric current). You can gather it from the atmosphere... except it rises to the top (hydrogen is the lightest element isn't it?). You get my point...

If "they" use a relatively clean fuel to generate power to gather hydrogen, then its a good start. At the moment nuclear power would be the only real option. I dunno if electric cars would be more efficient or not (as in get electricity from the bowser direct from the power grid, not hydrogen fuel cells).

they are a great idea for gas mileage but its gonna sound pretty stupid when two guys are caomparing their cars saying "Oh yea well this baby has 30 horsepower on it".
