Profile "how-to"

If anyone is willing to either: 1- Send me a step by step "how-to guide" on how to properly install a background onto my profile -OR- 2- Chat with me on AIM and walk me through it...

I have the basic editing skills down I just want to know how to get rid of the black...bar I guess it is that surrounds my avatar and the box where my rank is.(I mean on my profile)...I put a background on my profile but the "black bar" goes right through the picture....check out my profile and you'll see what I mean Please note that background's temporary I know it's all out of whack, I'm simply using it for reference purposes. THANKS!

Well, your problem is very easy to solve, if I understood it completely (I hope :3)

Step 1: Go to your profile
Step 2: Click "Show Style Editor" in the grey bar on top. It's written in red. "Style editor" grey rectangles will appear.
Step 3: Click on the style editor of every "section" in your profile and change the back ground colour in the pop-up to nothing at all (erase the values that will be written, something like #FFFFFF)

That's exactly what I'm looking for actually thanks so much I wasn't aware of the fact that you could erase those characters lol.
