    Image Compress?

So one of the members here was recently very generous enough to make me a profile, only problem is that the file size is well over the FFR limit.

Is there a way to compress the image without sustaining significant quality drop? I don't get how everyone's getting these awesome profiles too look and fit the file size.

Probably used a DPI that was way to high. Take a screenshot of these images at appropriate sizes and copy them into MSPaint, then save those as .pngs. You might be able to get away with just saving them as .pngs. There are better ways to do this but this is the easiest if assuming you don't have Photoshop or GIMP or anything.

If it was made in Photoshop, go to File>Save For Web>TIFF>Select file size, 512KB. Also, like WC said, It hepls to flatten the layers.

WC - Jpegs are actually rather large files, you shouldn't use them anyway for web stuff. Mostly TIFF, GIFs, EPS's, and PDF's. Those are your best web options.

        You never knew?

Being a mod gives you -30 goods.
And being Synthligh gives you +15 goods on any blue note song no matter what.

Or save for web devices you can literally just write the size you want by dithering etc.. Much better than just lowering jpeg quality!

It's under "save" as "save for web and devices" in PS, left hand side ^^

                1) EPS is for importing/exporting scripts
                2) A PDF is a file you have to open, not an image that can be displayed on a page
                3) PNG is kinda the new GIF, they now have animated PNGs that you'll start seeing more and more of. I'd go with PNG over GIF. I'd go with a PNG if you're worried about filesize. For stuff like photographs where going from one pixel to the one beside it is usually a totally different colour, JPEG is best.
