drawing tablet, gaise halp

I have no clue what I'm doing, since I've never been in the market for a drawing tablet. My mom wants to get me one for my birthday (oct6) and only has $60 to $100 to spend on it. She's unclear about the spending cap since she said she might even be able to spend $120.



ANY HELP IS WELCOME. I'm looking for the best tablet for drawing I can get with around $100 (CAD).

If you're going to get a tablet, get a wacom tablet. Wacom is the most trustworthy product line afaik. None of the other companies match up to Wacom's quality so far.

I myself use a wacom intuos 2, which I bought second hand. The Intuos line is a really solid intermediate level drawing tablet with a nice and smooth surface. The entry level tablets would be the bamboo series, but after being introduced to the intuos, my old bamboo (don't know about new bamboo tablets) felt like I was carving in wood in comparison to the intuos.
New intuos tablets cost quite a bit more (upwards to 400 dollars), but second hand intuos tablets cost much less and often enough work just as good. Older used intuos models also cost significantly less than the newer ones and you can probably score an older model within your price range.

There's also the cintiq but that'd be way out of your price range lol.

This. See what kind of Intuos tablet fits your budget and comfort with regards to size and start hunting for some good deals. You won't be sorry~ Intuos has always been reliable and easy to work with and much better than a bamboo in my experience.
