    computer issue

Hey, I try logging in to windows 7 normally and when I do a blue screen just pops up and I can't do anything else. I can run the computer perfectly fine in safe mode. I have a Toshiba laptop. Any suggestions? :<

OHH...so its not even a blue screen of death? shit. well, id first try plugging it into some sort of external monitor, and see if you can transfer the video output to the external monitor.

If nothing pops up on the other screen, try bringing up the safe mode menu (with various other boot options) and trying last known good configuration

if THAT doesnt work, try booting your computer into windows recovery mode (you may have to look it up for your model) and then running system restore (or you could go into safe mode and run sysrestore, iirc)

If what d4u says doesn't work, then I'd do a simple check for malware or infections of any sort. Run msconfig and see what's on startup and check what boot setting it's on (custom, if not safe mode probably.)

Either something is not loading properly (missing, corrupted file perhaps) or something is telling it to stall on the blue screen. Could also be a hardware issue.

Also, is the blue screen the light-blue screen you see when the password prompt is up?

Good point, oni. you can download and run malwarebytes in safe mode with networking, i believe, and have it full system scan that way.

it literally seems like some sort of video driver issue, which might mean that you might have to go into device manager, find your video driver, and update it/roll it back

In safe mode, click start, type in msconfig press enter, click general tab, tick the diagnostic mode ok, apply, reboot.

Try booting normal after choosing diagnostic startup from safe mode. If it boots normally then it is one of your startup items/services. If it does boot you can go through the startup and services manually to find out which one is causing the issue. DO NOT UNCHECK ANY OF THE SERVICES. Check the HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES BOX before unchecking any services!!!!!
