My account got hijacked

(Duh, new account, yes, it's really me. Therod.)
Ok, so today I try to log on and it says the password I entered wasn't correct. I tried more than once, and wrong every time. I figured out how to see what my password was. It wasn't the password I had nor one I ever changed too.

So, yeah, my original account got hijacked and I'll be using this one for now on.

I think this is a known glitch. If your account was recently created chances are that it's part of the error. I have multiple alt accounts that I can't get on either.

Your account wasn't hijacked, though.

That aside, your account probably just got deleted because it was made in the last few months.

That aside, your account probably just got deleted because it was made in the last few months.

For the record, the word he's looking for is certainly not 'hacked'

"Hacked" implies somebody actually accessed information stored serverside through all of the security designed to prevent that.

99.99% of the time on anything, that -anybody- loses control of an account of some kind, it was a) to someone who knew their password b) to someone who had gotten a keylogger installed on their system or c) to someone who managed to puzzle out that your password was 'password' or something equally easy to guess.

Actual hacking happens extremely rarely. Phishing and Social Engineering are how people lose accounts.


Also, Therod, if you want access to 'Therod' again instead of continuing to use 'Therod1' please just contact me via private message and we can get that done.

Your loss of access to the account was, as suggested above, a result of the downtime we had recently that effected many accounts made since the site came back up, and not the result of any malicious action by anybody.
