Those are really old songs, some of the first. As I understand it they don't want to change them. Many people have asked.

I think that they meant in general, the colors might be a problem for people who have colorblindness..
And no, there's no way to disable it - I agree with you, purple notes are harder for me to see than the other colors.

Sorry, something like this probably won't happen. The backgrounds are usually what make some songs hard in the first place and therefore difficulties would have to change too.
