figure out what you fail at most. if its something like streams, then practice on songs like nice nice noise, comfort betrays, harry potter techno remix. if its jumpstreams then practice on etude to a dragon, seven, (frozen). if its jump patterns then practice on songs like moonlight river, world of dreams, games we played pt 4. if its jacks, then practice on songs like nitrx, etc, etc.
i know i might sound stupid to a lot of people, but never try for a max combo, focus everything you have onto PA.
If you know that you can PA a song a score with lower then 50 goods, there's no need to even think about getting an FC, it just comes along with the PA

just work on what you suck at.
Pretty much the idea that I give to every other player who asks for help. At least someone else uses these ideas. =)

This concept is very nicely built for a StepMania player, but...FFR is all about combo. I do agree that you should practice the general pattern of a song to figure out the patterns so that they flow naturally to you (i.e. muscle memory). But combo does need to be factored into songs as well, especially if you are trying to bring your skill level up.

Yeah, you should never get a good on isolated single arrows, even if they make no sense rhythmically. Work on that by playing easy, badly-stepped songs (like Synth files lol).
Best AAA: Policy In The Sky [Oni] (81)
Best SDG: PANTS (86)
Best FC: Future Invasion (93)
I tried it again and i can get perfects on the first easy arrows, I feel like i'm wasting time practising easier songs and i feel it doesn't help me increase skill in reading harder patterns which i want to focus on at the moment.
But for an amateur, you are fairly average. Get to the point where you can get a cleaner pass, or a more impressive combo to be above par.
EDIT: On another note, -11-, you are fairly decent for an amateur, but like mentioned before you have to practice what you have trouble with. Like TK_Unreal said, I would agree that you have to work on PA and pattern reading, just hitting the arrows doesn't get you as far. If you can consistently PA a song, the combo will come easily with time as well.
