    Semi-noob question

Okay, since the last time I posted something like this, I've switched to spread and gotten significantly better.

Right now I'm trying to scale the barrier between VD and Challenging, and I can do most of the fast fingerwork except for full crossovers and those that do something like going all the way across and back, then going 3 across and back, repeat ad infinitum.

I can't see for the life of me how to consistently hit these other than get jacked up on caffeine and set the speed to 3x. And that's an exaggeration, too. So does anyone have tips to offer (remember, with spread?)

    Thanks in advance.

Find the pattern that you don't like, and slowly act it out with you fingers. Once you've got it down slowly, try faster, faster, etc.

Then pick out a song with that pattern and see what happens. Will probably take several tries to be able to do it right (because you have to read the arrows too).

      Hope that'll help.

If you have serious issues with a particular song and it's pattern you can always flip your monitor and then play downscroll with your keys mapped to the direct opposite. But it doesn't sound like you really want a solution to a particular case, just getting better. I think I would agree with Raveren on this. Lots and lots of practice. SS the pattern and tap those arrows until you get it down from the ss. THEN try playing it. I also find if I go a day or two without playing, when I come back I can read patterns a little easier. What speed do you play on? Unless it is 2.0, try speeding it up?

Thanks all, and oops, I meant staircases. Using the notation in the Picture Dictionary, the latter statement looks like 42686242624.

Or for a more visual approach:

              <---
              -v--
              --^-
              --->
              --^-
              -v--
              <---
              -v--
              --^-
              -v--
              <---

              etc.

              Again, anything welcome.
