    Cobalt Flux to Laptop Problems

I wasn't sure where this thread belonged, so I put it here.

Anyway , I'm having trouble using my cobalt flux on my laptop to play stepmania. It hooks up fine, it can recognize all the steps, but I cannot do holds. Everytime I step on an arrow to hold and step on another arrow, it will register that combination as a totally different button.

Like if I'm holding on to the left arrow and I'm stepping on the top arrow, it will register that as a TOP-LEFT diagonal arrow. I'm not sure whether it's my settings, laptop, pad or converter. I think my laptop recognizes my CF pad as a game controller. Is there anyway I can disable this diagonal arrows?

Go to whatever driver you're using and see if there is a DDR mode so that the arrows register as buttons rather than a direction pad. Most drivers will read dancepad arrows as axes by default, so you have to work around that.

I forget which driver I use (I don't have my pad ATM) but it has a "DDR Mode" just for SM. Try searching for one and see what you get. But make sure you turn off force feedback, otherwise you'll fry your control box.
