    Re: Settings - Speed ...?

Sorry those are stepmania terms. I am just going to assume you've played ddr or have seen ddr to explain it. C900 is a constant speed mod on stepmania that takes out all bpm changes and stops and keeps the flow at 900 beats per minute. Something like max 300 on 2x would be the same as C600 because its 300 bpm. So max 300 on 3x would be C900 which is fairly difficult to read because its so fast. Overhead means the notes go straight up instead of other 3D space mods such as distant. Distant makes the notes go up the screen at an angle into the back. So the notes would be larger at the bottem of the screen then they are at the top. It makes it easier to have higher scroll rates because the notes are on the screen longer. FFR does not have such scroll mods.

Oh ok. I get what you mean now thanks. and Um I only feel comfortable with the arrows comming down. Now is that ok? or will it be harder, say to FC or AAA a level.

It doesn't change the timing windows if that's what you are asking. It's the same except its going down the screen.

Ya I just wasn't sure if it was worse to play that way since I see on (example youtube) almost everyone plays going up.

I can't keep my eyes open for too long because I wear contacts, so higher speed mods are more difficult for me. I like 1.5x because it's still easy to time a whole lotta notes, and you don't have to keep your eyes plastered to the screen to do well. A lot of people do well with lower mods because they're simply used to it, although I'd argue that their accuracy would have been better had they put the same level of effort into learning a faster mod

Thanks for your opinion, I might try 1.75 now that I think about it. For me, 2.0 will take lots of time to get used to and 1.5 feel's right but with the tournament I really want to atleast pass the first round and right now my accuracy aint the greatest. All the song that I've AAA'ed so far probebly took me 30-50 try's each and I only did 12 in all.

I've been sticking to 1.5x. It really depends on how your own speed and reactions develop. I can see myself, perhaps, one day using 1.75x regularly, but not ever 2.0x. I seem to blink a lot when I play, and less arrows on the screen * faster songs means I will always miss notes even if my reaction time is up to par. 1.5x is the perfect medium for me.

I like 1.5. I don't the reaction time for anything faster.

                        Meh, 1.75 for me.
                        Always.
its just easier to read than the others.
I can't read slow arrows but i can read faster arrows, is that...weird?

No. As you get used to the notes being spread out and quicker, it is harder for you to interpret all those notes so close together and moving slowly.
